Job Description

As a Security Officer Access Control Specialist in Myerstown, PA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Logistics & Distribution, and more. As an Access Control Officer at a logistics and distribution location, you will help manage site entry, verify access credentials, monitor activity, and provide outstanding customer service to employees, visitors, and drivers. You will help maintain a professional presence that supports a secure environment while using communication and computer skills to document security-related activity. Position Type: Full Time

Pay Rate: $18.00 / Hour

• Comfortable Using Computer or Tablet (B204): Candidates should demonstrate proficiency in using computers or tablets, including familiarity with email applications, word processing software, and other relevant digital tools.
• Security Experience - 6+ Months (C112): Candidates must possess a minimum of six months of relevant security experience. This includes knowledge of data protection protocols, cybersecurity measures, and the ability to identify and respond to potential security threats.

What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to clients by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, access control requirements, and/or emergency response activities at a logistics and distribution location.
• Monitor and control access to the facility by verifying credentials, screening visitors and contractors, maintaining visitor logs, and directing authorized personnel to appropriate areas.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, access concerns, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following established site procedures.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of entry points, loading areas, parking areas, and the facility perimeter to help identify unauthorized access and report unusual activity.
• Document daily activities, access-related events, incidents, and observations in accordance with Allied Universal and site reporting procedures.

Minimum Requirements:

• Possess at least 6 months of security-related experience.
• Be comfortable using a computer or tablet, preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
