Department: Product
Employment Type: Full Time
Location: Melville, NY
Reporting To: Scott Matza
Compensation: $90,000 - $110,000 / year
Description
We’re looking for a Presales Consultant who loves solving real business problems with technology. In this role you’ll be the bridge between what retailers need and what our unified commerce platform can do—guiding prospects, clients, and partners from first conversation through successful adoption.
You’ll lead tailored product demonstrations, translate what you hear in discovery into a clear story about how the platform fits, and train and support clients so they get the most out of it after they sign. You’ll work closely with Sales, Product, Client Delivery, and Customer Success, and you’ll need a balance of deep product knowledge, retail savvy, and the communication and teaching skills to make complex things clear to any audience.
The Company
We are a small team with a big vision: to be the premier provider of cloud technology solutions for retailers. KWI offers a complete, unified commerce solution, specifically designed to help specialty retailers grow their business. Our portfolio of customers includes Pandora, Bluemercury, Tom Ford and many other globally recognizable brands.
We combine Point of Sale, Merchandising, Order Management, CRM, and Loyalty into one cloud-based platform. We are a Values and Mission driven organization, and we believe that if we develop and demonstrate leadership in our strategy, operations, and people, we will continue to drive product innovation and service excellence.
As a Presales Consultant, you excel at the following core competencies
- Problem Solving – Translates business problems into clear, practical solutions that fit real-world constraints of timeline, budget, and platform capabilities.
- Retail Acumen – Understands retail operations deeply enough to anticipate downstream impacts on stores, staff, and customers.
- Communication – Explains complex concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences, from store associates to executives.
- Teaching & Enablement – Breaks the product down into clear, learnable steps and builds training and documentation that stick.
- Comfort with Ambiguity – Operates confidently during discovery, asking clarifying questions to avoid assumptions and uncover the real requirement.
- Continuous Learning – Learns quickly, picks up new capabilities fast, and turns lessons into reusable knowledge for the team.
The impact you'll make
- Lead product demonstrations tailored to each prospect’s business needs and use cases. • Run discovery sessions to understand business requirements, then map them to KWI’s functional capabilities and show how the platform meets each need.
- Create solution documentation and support RFP responses that show how KWI addresses specific business challenges.
Post-Sales Implementation and Training
- Help clients configure and optimize KWI to solve their business problems, guiding process and workflow changes and supporting change management.
- Build and deliver training programs and materials tailored to different audience levels and learning styles, from store associates to head-office teams.
- Serve as a product expert for proactive and reactive client support, fielding questions during and after training and escalating what needs Product’s attention.
- Measure whether training worked through feedback, surveys, and adoption signals, and adjust the program based on what you learn.
- Own the quality and consistency of client-facing product content—guides, videos, in-app walk-throughs, and release notes—authoring it alongside Product Management and holding a shared standard for accuracy, voice, and upkeep as the platform evolves.
Partner Enablement & Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Equip partners to position and refer KWI, giving them the value proposition, use cases, and materials they need to bring forward qualified opportunities.
- Build relationships with technology and ecosystem partners, and develop joint value propositions and use cases that show how KWI and each partner deliver more together.
- Work with Product and Customer Success to turn client challenges into product requirements and share user and market insights that inform product strategy.
What you will bring
- 3–5 years of experience in a presales, product specialist, client training, or customer support role—ideally in retail technology, commerce, or B2B enterprise SaaS.
- A deep understanding of retail operations (point of sale, merchandising, order management, or CRM) and how they connect.
- The ability to lead compelling product demonstrations and tailor them to a specific audience and use case.
- Experience creating and delivering training, in person and virtual, and producing the content that supports it, such as guides, help articles, videos, or in-app walk-throughs, for audiences with varying levels of technical comfort.
- Experience gathering requirements and documenting them clearly for business and technical stakeholders.
- Strong communication and presentation skills, with comfort working across Sales, Product, and Client Delivery teams.
- Curiosity, adaptability, and a bias toward learning quickly in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to travel 20% of the time.
