About the Role:
Responsible for design, management and control of Workday configuration to support global/local enhancements or change requests and to support ongoing maintenance of the system. This role supports the Talent Development and Performance functional areas. Provide systems support and analysis and to leverage the technology to meet the business requirements. Business requirements will be submitted by HR and other users of HR technology systems throughout the company. The role will be required to present functional solutions to key stakeholders, to gain approval to progress the changes whilst protecting the global design template and optimizing Workday native capability. The ability to communicate clearly and effectively will be essential in this role.
Responsibilities:
- Provide Tier III system support for Workday Talent, acting as the escalation point for complex process, configuration, and functional issues raised by end users and Talent Partners.
- Manage and support Talent and Performance processes, including annual and mid-year performance review cycles and organizational talent reviews across RELX.
- Drive continuous improvement by reviewing existing Workday Talent configurations, identifying process enhancements, and recommending or deploying new functionality.
- Partner with Talent & Capabilities COEs, Talent Partners, Product Owners, and end users as the Workday Talent system expert, supporting business requirements, system changes, and projects.
- Keep current with Workday functional enhancements and releases, assess their impact, support localizations where applicable, and help ensure successful twice-yearly releases.
- Own testing and system integrity, including managing test scenarios for Workday and business-delivered enhancements, maintaining compliance, change control, and understanding impacts on downstream systems.
- Build reports and dashboards in collaboration with the People, Analytics and Insights team to enable greater self-service and informed decision-making.
- Enable cross-functional support and knowledge sharing by developing documentation, procedures, training resources, and communications for Tier II teams, while partnering with Talent Acquisition and Rewards on shared areas such as internal mobility and compensation reviews.
Requirements:
- 3–5 years of Workday system support and administration experience, with strong exposure to Talent and Performance.
- Strong hands-on Workday configuration skills, including condition rules, calculated fields, report writing, and system administration.
- Sound understanding of HR disciplines, processes, and HR systems, with experience supporting HR or Talent operations.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capability, with an investigative mindset, exceptional attention to detail, and the ability to manage and analyze large volumes of data.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to build effective working relationships and appropriately challenge stakeholders.
- Strong organizational skills, sound judgment, and discretion, particularly when handling sensitive information and making routine decisions within policies and procedures.
- Good IT literacy, including Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Word, case-management tools, and practical AI fluency for operational efficiency and AI-enabled Talent solutions.
- Workday release-management experience is advantageous but not essential, including familiarity with system enhancements, testing, upgrades, and change activities.
