Pepsi Bottling Ventures is seeking a Project Engineer to join our team.

Project Engineer Role Overview
As part of the Engineering team, the primary function of this position is to support the planning, coordination, and execution of capital and productivity projects across Pepsi Bottling Ventures (PBV). This role will partner with Operations, Engineering, Commercial, Demand Planning, and other business functions to assist with project delivery, improve operational performance, and support business growth initiatives.
The Project Engineer will work closely with senior engineering leaders, plant teams, contractors, and equipment suppliers to gain project management experience while developing technical and business knowledge. The role provides opportunities to lead smaller capital projects and contribute to larger, cross-functional project initiatives.
Day-to-Day Responsibilities
Capital Project Management
Support the execution of capital projects from concept through startup and project closure.
Manage small to moderate-sized projects under the guidance of senior engineering leadership.
Assist with project planning, scheduling, budgeting, risk identification, and stakeholder communications.
Track project milestones, action items, and deliverables to ensure successful execution.
Monitor project progress and provide status updates to project teams and stakeholders.
Support contractor coordination, equipment installation activities, commissioning, and startup efforts.
Maintain project documentation including schedules, budgets, drawings, specifications, and project reports.
Participate in vendor selection, equipment procurement, and project implementation activities.
Assist in identifying and implementing productivity improvements and cost-saving initiatives.
Support project governance, change management, and project reporting processes.
Maintain safe and organized work environments throughout all project activities.
Commercial & Financial Management
Assist with tracking capital spending, project budgets, and forecasting activities.
Support procurement processes including purchase requisitions, purchase orders, and invoice tracking.
Help develop project estimates, justifications, and business case documentation.
Monitor project costs and communicate potential budget risks.
Stakeholder Management
Build effective working relationships with manufacturing, warehouse, supply chain, and commercial teams.
Collaborate with project stakeholders to support successful project delivery.
Participate in project meetings and communicate project updates to team members.
Support coordination between internal customers, contractors, and vendors.
Technical Development & Knowledge Sharing
Develop technical knowledge of manufacturing, warehouse, and utility systems.
Participate in equipment startup activities and operator training programs.
Learn and apply project management best practices, engineering standards, and PBV procedures.
Seek opportunities to share lessons learned and contribute to continuous improvement efforts.
Support technical evaluations and equipment performance assessments.
Continuous Improvement
Identify opportunities to improve safety, quality, efficiency, and productivity.
Participate in structured problem-solving and root cause analysis activities.
Support implementation of operational and engineering improvements.
Assist in documenting project lessons learned and best practices.
Engineering
Assist with project scope development and technical design reviews.
Support development and review of equipment specifications and technical documentation.
Collaborate with internal teams and external suppliers to evaluate engineering solutions.
Assist with data collection, analysis, and project feasibility studies.
Provide project support to Engineering, Operations, Quality, Facilities, IT, and EHS teams as needed.
Environmental, Health & Safety
Promote PBV's safety culture and participate in safety initiatives including the Good Catch program.
Ensure project activities comply with PBV EH&S policies, procedures, and applicable regulations.
Identify and communicate potential safety concerns.
Participate in safety reviews, contractor safety meetings, and hazard assessments.
Review project activities to ensure safe work practices are followed.
Report incidents, near misses, and safety observations in accordance with company requirements.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, Chemical, Manufacturing, or related Engineering discipline required.
Zero (0) to three (3) years of engineering, project management, manufacturing, or related experience required.
Internship, co-op, or project experience in manufacturing, food and beverage, consumer packaged goods (CPG), or related industries preferred.
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
Strong organization, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Teams).
Basic understanding of project management principles and engineering fundamentals.
Knowledge of AutoCAD, Microsoft Project, Power BI, or similar tools is a plus.
Understanding of manufacturing processes and equipment systems is preferred.
Exposure to SAP or other ERP systems is a plus.
Eagerness to learn, collaborate, and develop technical and leadership capabilities.
Valid driver's license required and must be able to meet PBV driving qualifications.
Must be willing to travel up to 35% annually and work occasional weekends or off-hours to support project activities.
