At Children of America (COA), we believe great schools are built by great people. We are looking for an experienced School Director who is passionate about early childhood education, team leadership, family relationships, and creating an exceptional experience for children and employees.
As a School Director, you will have the opportunity to lead a talented team, oversee school operations, develop educators, build relationships with families, and drive the success of your school.
You will work closely with COA's senior and regional leadership teams while having the support and resources to grow professionally and make a meaningful impact.

What You'll Do
Lead & Develop Your Team
- Lead, coach, develop, and retain a talented team of educators and support staff
- Create a positive, collaborative, and accountable school culture
- Support employee engagement, recognition, and professional development
- Provide coaching and feedback to help employees succeed
- Build a strong team focused on children's education and family satisfaction
Oversee School Operations
- Manage the daily operations of the school
- Ensure compliance with all applicable state childcare licensing regulations
- Implement COA policies, procedures, and operational standards
- Monitor staffing, scheduling, safety, and overall school performance
- Partner with regional and senior leadership to achieve school and organizational goals
Champion Educational Quality
- Ensure children receive high-quality care and education
- Support consistent implementation of COA's curriculum
- Partner with teachers to maintain engaging, developmentally appropriate classrooms
- Promote a safe, nurturing, and welcoming environment for children
Build Family & Community Relationships
- Develop strong relationships with current and prospective families
- Deliver the COA Experience to children and families
- Support enrollment growth and family retention
- Respond professionally and effectively to parent and family needs
- Represent COA positively within the local community
What We're Looking For
We're looking for a confident, people-focused leader who is ready to take ownership and make an impact.
Qualifications include:
- Associate's or Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education or CDA, as applicable to state requirements
- 2–4 years of leadership experience
- At least 2 years of experience in a licensed childcare facility
- Strong knowledge of early childhood education
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
- Ability to build meaningful relationships with employees and families
- Excellent decision-making and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to remain flexible and composed in challenging situations
- Commitment to professional development and continuous improvement
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office 365 and industry-specific technology
- Must meet all applicable state licensing and regulatory requirements

Compensation & Incentives
$70,000–$80,000 Annual Base Salary
In addition to competitive base pay, this position may be eligible for:
- Performance-Based Incentives

Actual compensation will be based on experience, skills, geographic location, and internal equity. Incentive and bonus eligibility may vary based on position and applicable program requirements.
Relocation assistance may be available on a case-by-case basis for qualified candidates.

Travel Requirements
