Specific duties include but are not limited to

Kickstart your accounting career in a role where you'll gain hands-on experience in a dynamic environment, develop core financial skills, and build a strong foundation for your future in accounting.  The Staff Accountant will be responsible for customer order review/approvals, customer invoices, AR customer accounts, and sales tax for GatesAir.  This role will deal directly with customers and order administration to resolve invoice discrepancies and will interact with individuals at all levels of the organization.  This position offers room for growth in a department that supports a worldwide organization. 

 

Responsibilities include:

  • Review and process customer invoices ensuring deposits and credit memos have been applied
  • Customer collections; ensure timely resolution of invoice discrepancies
  • Customer maintenance / new customer setup
  • Review customer credit applications
  • Review / release customer orders for booking and shipment
  • Sales tax including review of exemption certificates, reconciliation, submitting monthly reports to 3rd party consultant, and submitting payment request
  • Notes receivable maintenance / new
  • Month-end close including journal entries, account reconciliations, and reporting
  • Support the implementation of a new ERP system.
  • May participate in special projects such as continuous improvement initiatives, audits and financial analysis initiatives.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Associates degree in accounting
  • Demonstrate efficiency and flexibility in performing detailed tasks
  • Experience with customer service
  • Proficient in Excel
  • Strong attention to detail and a passion for accuracy
  • Problem solving skills
  • Eagerness to learn and grow within a collaborative team environment
  • Solid organizational and time-management skills

GatesAir offers a full benefits package, including medical, dental, vision, life, and disability insurance; 401k matching and vacation starting out at 3 weeks annually.  Starting pay depends on experience, base of range is $50,000 annually.
