Key Responsibilities
Applications Support
• Configure, maintain, and support assigned MEDITECH applications and integrated healthcare systems.
• Analyze operational workflows and translate business requirements into effective system designs.
• Validate and implement system enhancements, changes, and optimizations within MEDITECH and ancillary support applications.
• Support MEDITECH modules, Patient Portal, and ancillary applications.
• Maintain access Dictionaries, security settings, and system configuration according to organizational standards.
• Review and evaluate software updates, patches, and vendor releases prior to production implementation.
• Participate in application lifecycle management including upgrades, system maintenance, and optimization initiatives.
Customer Service
• Quickly respond to support requests and incidents.
• Prioritize issues based on patient care impact and business urgency.
• Translate technical concepts into language clinicians and staff can understand.
• Keep end users informed throughout the resolution process.
• Set realistic expectations regarding timelines and outcomes.
• Communicate proactively during outages, upgrades, and system changes.
Workflow Analysis & Optimization
• Collaborate with clinical, operational, financial, and leadership teams to assess current-state workflows and design future-state solutions.
• Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, data integrity, patient safety, regulatory compliance, and user satisfaction.
• Assist departments in standardizing workflows and best practices utilizing MEDITECH functionality.
• Participate in process improvement initiatives and organizational transformation projects.
Project Management & Implementation
• Lead and participate in projects through planning, design, testing, implementation, training, and post-go-live support.
• Coordinate cross-functional teams to achieve project goals and deliverables.
• Develop Scoping, project plans, timelines, status reports, and implementation strategies.
• Facilitate project meetings and communicate progress to stakeholders and leadership.
• Ensure project milestones and objectives are achieved within established timelines.
Testing & Quality Assurance
• Develop and execute test plans, test scripts, and validation scenarios.
• Coordinate unit, integrated, regression, user acceptance, and workflow testing activities.
• Document testing outcomes and maintain testing records.
• Identify, document, prioritize, and resolve testing defects through completion.
• Validate system functionality, interfaces, reports, and workflows prior to production deployment.
Troubleshooting & Support
• Investigate, troubleshoot, and resolve application, workflow, interface, and data issues.
• Analyze complex incidents and identify root causes.
• Collaborate with vendors and technical teams to resolve system problems.
• Monitor application performance and proactively identify potential issues.
• Participate in after-hours support and on-call coverage as assigned.
Interfaces, Reporting & Data Integrity
• Support integrations between MEDITECH and third-party applications, devices, and external healthcare systems.
• Assist with HL7 interfaces, interoperability workflows, and data exchange processes.
• Support reporting and data validation activities.
• Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and compliance with regulatory requirements.
• Participate in data auditing, reconciliation, and quality improvement efforts.
Training & Documentation
• Develop and maintain technical and workflow documentation.
• Create user guides, tip sheets, and support materials.
• Provide education and training to end users and departments.
• Participate in workflow demonstrations, system presentations, and knowledge transfer activities.
• Assist in onboarding new users and supporting training initiatives.
Compliance & Security
• Follow established change management, security, and governance processes.
• Maintain HIPAA compliance and safeguard confidential patient and organizational information.
• Ensure application configurations comply with regulatory, accreditation, and organizational requirements.
• Support security audits and application access reviews.
Other Duties
• Participate in departmental meetings, committees, and organizational initiatives.
• Stay current with healthcare technology trends and MEDITECH enhancements.
• Perform other duties as assigned to support organizational objectives.
Minimum Qualifications
Education
• Associate’s degree in healthcare informatics, Information Technology, Computer Science, Business, Clinical Discipline, or related field required.
• A combination of Education and experience will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis.
Experience
• Minimum three (3) years of experience supporting healthcare information systems or electronic health record platforms.
• Experience with MEDITECH Client/Server and/or MEDITECH Expanse strongly preferred.
• Experience supporting healthcare clinical, operational, revenue cycle, or ancillary workflows preferred.
• Experience leading system implementations, upgrades, or optimization projects preferred.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
• Strong understanding of healthcare operations, clinical workflows, and healthcare information systems.
• Knowledge of MEDITECH application functionality and system architecture.
• Understanding of healthcare interoperability standards (HL7, interfaces, APIs, and healthcare integrations).
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving abilities.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong project management and organizational skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Demonstrated commitment to customer service and user satisfaction.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively across departments.
Physical Requirements
• Ability to sit, stand, walk, bend, and use standard office equipment for extended periods.
• Ability to communicate effectively in person, by telephone, and through electronic communication methods.
• Ability to occasionally lift or move equipment and materials up to 25 pounds.
