Based in Mexico and reporting to the Manufacturing Engineering Manager, you will lead engineering efforts in product development and manufacturing to ensure optimal product design, cost-effectiveness, and timely delivery. You will serve as a key technical leader, working closely with local vendors, global headquarters, and cross-functional teams to develop innovative manufacturing solutions that meet rigorous product specifications, cost targets, and quality standards.
This role requires frequent travel to regional vendor sites to provide hands-on engineering, tooling, and production support.

Lead medium-complexity product launches from initial development to Production Start (PS), ensuring strict adherence to timelines, budgets, and quality standards
Collaborate with suppliers to define manufacturing methods and resolve complex issues in injection molding, extrusion, blow molding, and decoration processes
Oversee the engineering, procurement, and technical debugging of consigned materials and specialized components
Drive annual continuous improvement initiatives utilizing CAD, DFMEA, and Lean Six Sigma methodologies to optimize assembly line efficiency and reduce scrap
Partner with global sourcing teams to identify, audit, and onboard non-Asia vendors to diversify and strengthen the regional supply chain
Mentor and train junior engineers in lean manufacturing, tooling design, and cross-functional project management
Prepare technical reporting and manufacturing feasibility analyses for senior leadership to support strategic operational decisions
Monitor vendor capacity planning in collaboration with the supply chain team to align production output with global demand
What are your skills and experience?
Undergraduate degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related technical discipline
Professional engineering experience in manufacturing, operations, or product development engineering, preferably within consumer goods or toys
Technical expertise in plastics transformation processes, including injection molding, extrusion, blow molding, and high-volume assembly
Proficiency in CAD software for design review, along with practical application of DFMA and Lean Manufacturing principles
Demonstrated experience independently managing product launch lifecycles, sourcing tooling, and troubleshooting factory-floor production challenges
Experience preparing project schedules, tracking milestones, and utilizing project management software
Full professional fluency in both Spanish and English, with outstanding cross-cultural communication and negotiation skills
Bonus: Professional proficiency in Mandarin or experience with global manufacturing transfers is a strong plus
