Job Title: IT - IT Project Manager - Intermediate
Position Title: IT Project Manager – Intermediate
Line of Business: Enterprise Technology PMO – Enterprise Technology (ET) provides project management, technology solutions and support, and compliance and governance services. Our work is essential to ensuring operational excellence, enhancing efficiencies, and positioning several key CIBC business units for transformation and success.
Target Start Date: 9/21/26
Duration: 6 months
Target rate range: $80-96hr B2B
Potential for this contract to be extended or converted to FTE? Extension: Yes / Conversion: Possible
Hybrid: 1 days per week in office. Wednesday, plus 1st Friday of each month
Office Location: 81 Bay Street Toronto
Work Schedule (hours per week, start time): 9-5/ 37.5 hours
Potential for OT? No
Team Size: Currently 10 PMs reporting to Project Director; approximately 60 people in total
Daily Collaboration: The contractor will work closely with Project Director and the project team
How many years of experience? 5 – 7+ years of professional experience in risk management, internal audit, or regulatory compliance
Job Description:
• Project Management – Outline project goals, terms of reference, resource requirements, and costs. Help create a resource plan that ensures all stakeholders have a voice on the project. Assess the efficiency of the practices and procedures used by a team, and provide guidance that will continuously improve the project plan.
• Collaboration – Help internal partners make informed decisions about the development of programs, products, and services. Coach and mentor your teams as you work toward a common goal and negotiate deliverables and milestones whenever necessary.
• Project Coordination – Proactively identify anything that will take projects off schedule and find solutions to correct the problem. Monitor milestones, and ensure they’re completed according to timelines and budgets. Execute a project plan that is personalized for your team’s preferred mix of budget, time, and risk.
• Project Financials – Manage financials of your assigned projects effectively in accordance with the policies and procedures of the LOB. Report and explain monthly variances as per prescribed guidelines.
Experience Required:
Minimum 5–7 years as IT PM
Must-Have Requirements:
1. Project Management experience – 5+ years
2. PMP certification (required if not previously a PM at CIBC)
3. MS Project and MS Office experience – 5+ years
4. Hands-on experience with project financials – 3+ years
5. Previous experience managing multiple projects simultaneously
Nice-to-Have:
• Previous CIBC experience working as a project manager
• Familiarity with EDF (Enterprise Delivery Framework)
• Experience managing large projects ($5M+)
