Senior Accountant

Position Summary:

Ensuring accurate financial reporting which contributes to operational efficiency while enabling management to make informed decisions that align with the goals and mission of the organization.  The incumbent will be responsible for one or more key accounting functions, including accounts payable (A/P), accounts receivable (A/R) and general ledger (G/L) activities.  

 

Essential Job Functions “What You’ll Do”:

• Oversees the A/R, A/P and/ or G/L function for the Company's multiple entities to ensure accuracy
• Reviews IOs, processes and prints customer invoices and credit memos in a timely manner, verifying accuracy, approvals and account coding in accordance to Company policy and procedures
• Answers A/R related emails ensuring customer queries are handled efficiently
• Performs client reconciliations to include remedying incorrect billings
• Maintains G/L accounts to ensure accuracy and completeness of financial records
• Reconciles of monthly billing file with Convertr to ensure all invoices and credit notes, journal entries are posted on Netsuite (NS)
• Reviews deferred revenue schedule and performs reconciliation of revenue
• Prepare, reconcile and audit financial reports to include, but not limited to CM Report, fixed assets depreciation and schedule, Loan Receivable - SFE Partners LLC and Interest and Non-Trade Receivable
• Analyzes variances in financial reports and initiate discussions with CS to investigate discrepancies
• Reviews and audits Navan expenses to include posting of expense reimbursement
• Partner costs management and recording – issue resolution, accruals and reconciliation
• Fixed asset management – review bookings for FA, generate new asset and depreciation, write-offs, disposals, and update FA schedule
• Oversees of the commissions program to include, but not limited to checking NS invoices and credit memos to Performio, running calculations and computing manual adjustments to provide payroll report for payout
• Mentors and guides junior staff to include the identification of improvements in accounting processes and procedures to enhance efficiency and accuracy

 

Essential Qualifications “What You’ll Need”: 

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related discipline preferred
• 3-4 years General Accounting
• 3-4 years relevant account experience with a focus on A/P, A/R and G/L functions    
• Bookkeeping
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or related software as well as other accounting software programs
• Proficient with Microsoft Excel (Pivot Tables, Vlookup, Conditional formulas
• Knowledge of accounting standards and financial forecasting techniques
• Strong knowledge of Xero and Netsuite
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail and accuracy
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
• Ability to communicate effectively in both a verbal and written manner
• Ability to train others and project manage
• Ability to work independently and in a fast-paced environment, along with being a team player
• Ability to work toward goals, meet deadlines, and contribute positively to the team environment
• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) preferred
