The Director, Market Access International plays a critical role in developing and executing International pricing and market access strategies that enable timely and sustainable patient access across Europe and other International markets.
Working closely with the VP, Head of Market Access International, this individual will translate the overall International access strategy into executable country plans, partnering closely with affiliate Market Access leaders and cross-functional colleagues in HEOR, Medical, Regulatory, Commercial, Government Affairs and Global Market Access.
The role combines strategic thinking with hands-on execution and will be instrumental in supporting launch readiness, pricing negotiations, HTA submissions and reimbursement across Madrigal's International footprint.
Acting as an enterprise leader, the incumbent will demonstrate patient focus in every decision, act with an owner mindset, champion innovation, and foster collaboration to drive impact and advance Madrigal’s purpose of leading the fight against MASH.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the development and execution of International pricing and market access strategies, ensuring successful reimbursement and patient access across priority markets.
- Partner with affiliate Market Access leaders to develop, challenge and execute country access strategies, HTA submissions and pricing negotiations.
- Collaborate with HEOR, Medical, Commercial, Regulatory and Global Market Access to develop compelling value propositions, evidence plans and payer engagement strategies.
- Drive International launch readiness by integrating market access considerations into commercialization and lifecycle planning.
- Monitor the external pricing, reimbursement and HTA environment, identifying risks, opportunities and emerging trends that may impact access strategies.
- Provide market access expertise to business development, portfolio planning and strategic initiatives, including pricing and reimbursement assessments.
- Foster collaboration and the sharing of best practices across affiliates to strengthen International market access capabilities and execution.
- Act as an enterprise leader, promoting cross-functional collaboration and contributing to the development of a high-performing International Market Access organization.
Profile
- 8+ years of progressive experience in pharmaceutical Market Access, Pricing and Reimbursement and/or HEOR.
- Significant International or European market access experience supporting multiple countries.
- Experience supporting successful launches in specialty pharmaceuticals or rare diseases.
- Strong understanding of European HTA processes and pricing negotiations.
- Experience working in matrix organizations and collaborating across global and affiliate teams.
- Previous experience supporting affiliate Market Access organizations preferred.
Qualifications
- Degree in Life Sciences, Pharmacy, Health Economics or related discipline.
- Advanced degree (MBA, MSc, MPH, PharmD or PhD) preferred.
- Strong strategic and analytical thinking.
- Excellent collaboration and influencing skills across matrix organizations.
- Ability to balance enterprise consistency with local market needs.
- Strong project leadership and execution capabilities.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Hands-on, pragmatic approach suited to a fast-growing biotechnology company.
- Fluency in English, both written and spoken. Additional language skills are an asset.
- Willingness to travel internationally, as required.
