Description
EVOS, a key player in the energy and storage infrastructure sector, is currently seeking to recruit an Accountant to join their team in the Finance & Administration department.
The chosen candidate will be working closely with management, auditors, clients, suppliers and other stakeholders, whilst supporting management with reliable financial information and ensuring the company’s financial records are accurate and up to date.
Key Responsibilities:
- Establishing and maintaining accounting practices to ensure accurate and up-to-date account records necessary for business operations.
- Maintaining accurate bank records, preparing reconciliations and monitoring cash movements.
- Assisting with the preparation of management accounts, month-end reporting schedule and financial statements.
- Preparing VAT returns and other relevant tax-related documentation.
- Assisting with income tax and corporate tax compliance in accordance with Maltese requirements.
- Providing budget cost controls for opex and capex, financial analysis, accounting practices and reports.
- Assisting with budgeting, forecasting and financial analysis.
- Ensuring accounting records comply with applicable Maltese legislation and accounting standards.
- Identifying discrepancies and resolving accounting issues promptly.
- Maintaining confidentiality of financial and company information.
- Supporting the year-end audit and other statutory and compliance requirements and related financial reports and ad-hoc finance tasks.
- Assisting or replacing the Finance & Administration Manager when not available.
Ideal Candidate Profile:
- Minimum of three years of relevant experience preferably in a Maltese company or accounting firm.
- A recognised degree at MQF Level 6 or higher in Accountancy or Finance, or an ACCA qualification.
- Sound working knowledge of MS Office applications, particularly Excel.
- Experience with accounting software; familiarity with Dynamics 365 Business Central would be considered an asset.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Strong attention to detail and numerical accuracy.
