Everest Reinsurance Company, a member of the Everest Re Group, Ltd. is looking for an Actuarial Analyst to join our International Pricing team in our Miami, Warren or New York Office.
In this role you will perform pricing analysis for the broad spectrum of P&C and Specialty reinsurance. In addition, you are involved in the development and pricing of innovative risk transfer solutions together with clients and brokers, primarily in Latin America and Middle East & Africa. You will work with underwriters to analyze the profitability of our portfolio in support of the Latin American and/or Middle East & African books of business. You will work closely with the actuarial function in home office and the other branch offices on the enhancement and development of pricing tools to enhance our pricing excellence.
Responsibilities include but not limited to:
- Liaise with underwriting and management in support of our international book of business
- Collaborate closely with Underwriters on technical assessments and exposure analysis
- Performing transactional actuarial pricing analyses, conducting lines of business studies, profitability reviews, portfolio management, and ad-hoc modeling work
- Working closely with the Solutions team to develop and test new models related to reinsurance pricing, as well as improve existing models.
- Work with other actuaries across the International branches to ensure consistency and adherence to best practices
- Support other global reinsurance pricing teams as needed
Qualifications, Education & Experience:
- Actuarial, Math or Science related degree with excellent computer/data manipulation skills
- 1-5 years of P&C actuarial pricing experience; reinsurance a plus
- Demonstrated progress towards an actuarial designation by a recognized body
- Experience in project work and tool development
- Ideally has line of business experience in Latin America, Caribbean and/or Middle Eastern markets.
Knowledge, Skills & Competencies:
- Experience with Python, and/or R, SQL, programming skills is a plus
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Spanish and/or Portuguese fluency preferred
- Keen to work in cross-functional and cross-cultural teams, good team player
- A business-oriented focus (motivated, self-directed, organized, and analytical)
The base salary range for this position is $116,000 - $139,740 annually. The offered rate of compensation will be based on individual education, experience, qualifications and work location.
