School Counselor - Spanish a plus

Salary: $45 - $45/hour

Assignment Details

• Start Date: October 8, 2026
• End Date: May 28, 2027
• Hours: 37.5 hours per week
• Grades: elementary, middle, or high school

Responsibilities:

• Provide individual and group counseling services.
• Develop and implement a comprehensive school counseling program aligned with district and Texas state guidelines.
• Support students with academic planning and achievement, social and emotional development, behavior management, and college and career readiness.
• Assist with course selection and graduation planning.
• Participate in ARD meetings and support students receiving special education services.
• Provide crisis intervention and mental health support.
• Collaborate with teachers, administrators, parents, school psychologists, and community agencies.
• Deliver classroom guidance lessons and student workshops.
• Maintain accurate counseling documentation and student records.
• Promote a positive school climate while ensuring compliance with TEA and district policies.

Qualifications:

• Master's degree in School Counseling or a related field.
• Valid Texas School Counselor Certification.
• Knowledge of student development, counseling strategies, and Texas education laws.
• Ability to effectively support students from diverse backgrounds.
• Previous experience as a K-12 School Counselor is preferred.
• Elementary school counseling experience is strongly preferred.
• Experience with mental health and behavioral interventions.
• Bilingual English/Spanish skills are a plus.
• Excellent communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills.
