Veterinary Technician – High-Volume Surgery
We are seeking a skilled, efficient, and team-oriented Veterinary Technician to support our high-volume surgical program. This position is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is confident working efficiently while maintaining excellent patient care and surgical standards.
POSITION INFORMATION:
This Position is for ONE surgery shift. We host surgery every Saturday at our Pearland Clinic. We are open to applicants who are looking for semi-regular work (ex every other Saturday, or once a month) , or wanting to work a shift every Saturday!
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and monitor patients for surgery, including anesthesia monitoring and recovery
- Assist DVMs with high-volume spay/neuter and other surgical procedures
- Perform surgical preparation, instrument handling, and sterile technique
- Safely calculate, prepare, and administer medications as directed
- Monitor patients closely throughout anesthesia and recovery
- Maintain accurate medical records and surgical documentation
- Clean, disinfect, and maintain surgical equipment and treatment areas
- Work efficiently as part of a high-volume surgical team
- Follow all clinic protocols for patient safety, infection control, and controlled substances
Ideal Candidate
- Veterinary Technician experience, preferably in a high-volume surgical setting
- Strong anesthesia monitoring and patient-care skills
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to multitask
- Comfortable working quickly while maintaining safety and quality
- Reliable, organized, and a strong team player
This is a hands-on position for someone who enjoys surgery, teamwork, and making a high volume of lifesaving procedures possible.
Requirements
- 3+ years of veterinary technician experience preferred (specifically experience in surgery)
- Experience in high-volume surgery strongly preferred
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
- Strong anesthesia monitoring and surgical-assistance skills
- Able to work efficiently while maintaining patient safety and quality of care
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work well as part of a team
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Able to safely handle and restrain a variety of dogs and cats
- Willingness to work efficiently under pressure and adapt to changing daily surgical needs
