A Day in the Life:
JOB SUMMARY
The Assistant Planner supports the Director, Planning, ROA in managing Monthly Forecast Review (MFR), inventory allocation, business reporting, and performance analysis across Retail, Wholesale, and Travel Retail channels. The role helps drive inventory productivity, reporting accuracy, and actionable business insights through strong analytical and operational support.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Monthly Forecast Review (MFR)
- Support the Monthly Forecast Review (MFR) process across Asia markets and channels.
- Prepare forecast reports, variance analysis, and business insights.
- Monitor performance against forecast and identify risks and opportunities.
- Track forecast accuracy and support continuous improvement initiatives.
Allocation & Inventory Management
- Execute product allocations and replenishment strategies.
- Monitor inventory health and identify stock-out, excess inventory, and aged stock risks.
- Recommend inventory rebalancing, transfers, and replenishment actions.
- Support seasonal launches, promotions, and inventory deployment strategies.
Reporting & Business Analytics
- Prepare weekly, monthly, and ad hoc reports.
- Analyze sales, inventory, and productivity metrics by market, channel, store, category, and style.
- Generate actionable insights and support management presentations.
- Ensure accuracy and consistency across reporting platforms.
Wholesale & Partner Support
- Consolidate sales, inventory, and forecast submissions from partners.
- Monitor partner performance and inventory positions.
- Support partner forecasting, allocation, and replenishment activities.
Process Improvement & Automation
- Identify opportunities to improve planning, allocation, and reporting processes.
- Support reporting automation, dashboard development, and process enhancements.
- Leverage technology, analytics, and AI-enabled tools to improve efficiency and decision making.
EDUCATION & PRIOR EXPERIENCE NEEDED
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, Finance, Economics, Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering, or related disciplines.
- 1-2 years of experience in Merchandise Planning, Retail Planning, Allocation, Supply Chain Planning, Business Analytics, or related fields. Retail or fashion industry experience preferred.
- Advanced Excel skills including Pivot Tables, XLOOKUP, SUMIFS, and data analysis.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Experience working with large datasets and business reporting.
- Knowledge of SAP, MicroStrategy, Power BI, Tableau, Power Query, SQL, or Python is advantageous.
- Proactive, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities.
- Strong interest in leveraging AI and emerging technologies to enhance planning, forecasting, allocation, inventory management, and reporting processes.
- Curious and willing to explore automation, predictive analytics, generative AI, and data-driven decision-making to improve business outcomes.
