About the Opportunity

HammondCare is committed to improving quality of life for people in need and has a bold ambition to become a leader in the responsible adoption of AI and digital health across aged care, dementia, palliative and complex care.

As part of Hammond Innovations, the Clinical Digital Health Specialist will play a pivotal role in translating emerging technologies into safe, ethical and evidence-informed models of care that deliver meaningful outcomes for older people, families, carers and frontline teams.

Reporting to the Director, Research & Innovation, this is a senior clinical innovation and translation role focused on providing clinical leadership across HammondCare's care AI and digital health portfolio. Working through the IDEA Hub (Insight, Design, Evidence and Action), you will help identify priority use cases, assess emerging technologies, guide responsible adoption, strengthen governance and support implementation of solutions that enhance quality, safety, workforce capability and care outcomes.

This role is ideal for an experienced clinician with a passion for innovation, digital health and the future of care, who wants to help shape how technology can be safely and effectively integrated into real-world health and aged care settings.

This is a permanent full-time opportunity, based out of our St Leonards office.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead HammondCare's clinical AI and digital health initiatives, including care AI, virtual care, remote monitoring and emerging healthcare technologies.
  • Identify, assess and prioritise technology opportunities that improve quality, safety and outcomes across dementia, palliative and complex care.
  • Provide clinical leadership and oversight for AI and digital health governance, validation, risk management, ethics, privacy and compliance.
  • Coordinate HammondCare's Clinical AI Working Group, guiding prioritisation, assessment and adoption of digital health initiatives.
  • Translate emerging technologies into practical, person-centred care models, workflows and implementation approaches.
  • Partner with clinical, operational, technology and governance teams to support the safe adoption and integration of digital solutions.
  • Monitor and evaluate digital health initiatives, measuring adoption, benefits, safety outcomes and opportunities for improvement.
  • Maintain awareness of emerging technologies, sector trends and evidence to inform HammondCare's innovation agenda.
  • Build organisational capability and workforce confidence in the responsible use of care AI and digital health technologies.
  • Develop and maintain strategic partnerships with researchers, technology providers, government and industry stakeholders.
  • Contribute to innovation projects, grant opportunities, research activities and executive reporting across the Hammond Innovations portfolio.

What do we need from you?

  • Current or previous senior clinical qualification in nursing, medicine, allied health or a related discipline.
  • Demonstrated experience in digital health, AI-enabled care, virtual care, remote monitoring, clinical informatics or technology-enabled care models.
  • Strong understanding of clinical governance, risk management, patient safety and evidence-based practice.
  • Knowledge of privacy, ethics, regulatory and compliance considerations relevant to AI and digital health.
  • Experience assessing emerging technologies from clinical, operational, ethical and consumer perspectives.
  • Proven ability to translate digital solutions into practical clinical workflows and models of care.
  • Experience leading or coordinating multidisciplinary stakeholder groups, committees or governance forums.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and change leadership skills across clinical, operational and enabling teams.
  • Ability to stay abreast of emerging AI, digital health and healthcare innovation trends.
  • Highly developed written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to influence and engage executive, operational and frontline audiences.
  • Commitment to HammondCare's Christian Mission, Motivation and Mission in Action.

Highly Regarded

  • Experience in aged care, dementia care, palliative care, home care, residential care or complex care environments.
  • Experience implementing, evaluating or governing AI, clinical decision support systems, virtual care or remote monitoring solutions.
  • Experience developing clinical safety cases, validation frameworks, benefits realisation frameworks or implementation monitoring approaches.
  • Experience participating in digital health governance, AI governance or responsible innovation programs.
  • Knowledge of leading AI and digital health technologies, vendors and emerging sector trends.
  • Experience working with researchers, industry partners and external stakeholders to support innovation and evidence generation.
  • Postgraduate qualifications in digital health, clinical informatics, public health, health innovation, healthcare leadership or related disciplines.
