Key responsibilities
You advise clients on the complex accounting and financial reporting matters that shape their most important decisions, including:
- M&A accounting: Shape the accounting and reporting that underpins major M&A transactions - purchase accounting, combined financial statements, pro-forma financial information, and post-deal finance integration.
- Capital Markets & IPO services: Guide companies to the capital markets - from IPO readiness and execution through post-listing requirements.
- CFO Advisory: Provide support on management and lender reporting, controllership and FP&A, including assessments evaluating quality and scalability.
- Technical & operational accounting: Advise clients on GAAP conversions, consolidations, audit-ready reporting and closing procedures, and implementation of new accounting pronouncements.
- Lead engagements from first scope to final delivery - manage engagement economics, delivery risk, and stakeholder expectations.
- You are a significant part of growing the Swiss practice - spotting opportunities within existing relationships, contributing to proposals, and building new business.
- Add to the firm's voice through developing new service offerings, hosting events and preparing publications.
- Coach and develop (Senior) Consultants through technical review, mentorship, and honest feedback.
Required qualifications & attributes for success
You will recognize yourself in most of the following:
- An academic background in accounting, finance, or economics, ideally paired with a qualified accountant credential (CPA, ACA, ACCA, or equivalent).
- Five to seven years in a Big 4 or comparable advisory environment, or in a senior technical accounting or financial reporting role in industry.
- Deep, applied knowledge of IFRS and/or US GAAP (SCO and/or Swiss GAAP FER a plus), applied to complex standards in a client-facing or technical accounting setting.
- Fluent in German and English.
- Confidence in working with modern finance technology and digital tools in advisory delivery.
- The interpersonal skills to build trusted relationships with senior finance stakeholders, (e.g. CFOs, controllers, audit committees, and external auditors, etc.)
- Curiosity, a collaborative instinct, and the ambition to thrive somewhere entrepreneurial and growing fast.
- A track record of leading several engagements at once, managing their economics, and delivering quality work under tight timelines.
