Day in The Life of a Part-time Medical Director
The Crossroads team is made up of passionate individuals dedicated to fighting substance use disorders and saving lives. Our teammates’ diverse backgrounds and experience are valuable assets in our mission to help patients build better lives in recovery.
Some Responsibilities include
Evaluate and manage patients with opioid use disorder in our outpatient clinic settings
Prescribe appropriate medications and treatments as indicated by patient assessment
Complete medical documentation by Crossroads standards
Collaborate with clinic staff to provide holistic care to patients, including referrals to other medical providers and community services
Provide injections if needed
APP collaboration (additional stipend for supervision of Nurse Practitioners and Physician Assistants)
Schedule & Locations
Primary center: Greensboro
Target weekly hours: 5-10 hours weekly (combination of patient facing and admin/virtual hours)
Proposed schedule: 1 day in center

Education and Licensure Requirements
MD or DO with an active, unrestricted medical licensure and authorized to practice medicine in the state of practice
Board certified in primary specialty in one of the following: Family Medicine/Family Practice, Internal Medicine, General Practice, Psychiatry
DEA Certificate of Registration in the state of practice with ability to schedule 2, 2N, 3, 4, & 5
Must have or be eligible for enrollment for Medicaid and Medicare credentials
Additional education or certification may be required depending on state of practice.
State Specific Requirements
The Medical Director must be onsite at least 4 hours per month.
Preferred Experience
Experience in addiction medicine, preferably with experience treating patients with opioid use disorder (OUD) and/or providing medication for opioid use disorder
