Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Warehouse Manager to build and lead a new second-shift warehouse operation in Atlanta, Georgia.
This is an opportunity for a hands-on warehouse leader to help establish a new shift from the ground up. The Warehouse Manager will play an integral role in hiring and developing a team of approximately 30–35 employees, establishing daily operating procedures, creating an effective shift structure, and developing a strong handoff process between first and second shifts.
The ideal candidate will have strong warehouse or distribution management experience, including experience managing supervisors. This is a hands-on leadership position requiring someone who is comfortable working on the warehouse floor and can demonstrate proper operation of forklifts and other warehouse equipment.
Key Responsibilities
- Build, lead, and develop a second-shift warehouse team of approximately 30–35 employees.
- Participate in recruiting, hiring, onboarding, and training employees for the new shift.
- Manage and develop supervisors and hourly warehouse employees.
- Establish second-shift workflows, responsibilities, procedures, and performance expectations.
- Develop and maintain an effective handoff process between first and second shifts.
- Oversee daily warehouse and distribution activities to ensure safe, accurate, and efficient operations.
- Maintain a strong floor presence and address operational issues as they occur.
- Monitor productivity, workflow, staffing, safety, and overall shift performance.
- Identify opportunities to improve warehouse processes, efficiency, and communication.
- Ensure employees follow established safety procedures and operating standards.
- Provide hands-on guidance and demonstrate proper operation of forklifts and other warehouse equipment when needed.
- Partner with first-shift leadership to maintain continuity between shifts.
Qualifications
- Previous management experience in warehouse or distribution operations.
- Experience managing supervisors as part of a warehouse or distribution operation.
- Experience leading and developing hourly warehouse employees.
- Demonstrated ability to lead teams in a hands-on warehouse environment.
- Experience establishing or improving shift workflows and operating procedures.
- Strong understanding of effective shift handoffs and communication between operating teams.
- Working knowledge of forklifts and other common warehouse/material-handling equipment.
- Ability to demonstrate proper equipment operation when necessary.
- Strong leadership, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work onsite in Atlanta during the 3:00 PM–12:00 AM second shift.
What Makes This Opportunity Different
This is not simply an opportunity to take over an established shift. You will have the opportunity to help build your own team and establish how the second-shift operation functions.
You will play a direct role in hiring employees, developing the shift structure, establishing operating expectations, and creating an effective handoff between first and second shifts.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced warehouse leader who enjoys building teams, improving operations, and remaining actively involved on the warehouse floor.
