Responsibilities

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Primary duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:

• Load and unload trucks and/or other containers using a variety of material handling equipment.
• Move material within a warehouse or storage facility to and from the loading platform using a forklift truck or other handling equipment.
• Direct the work of a material handling crew engaged in loading and unloading, arranging, and routing materials within the facility.
• Ensure that the proper items in the proper quantities are being shipped to the correct locations at the most economical price meeting our customer’s expectations.
• Sort and distribute material to various areas following work order instructions.
• Complete daily safety and 5S/housekeeping walks; conduct daily forklift audits.
• Compete weekly quality audits; minimum 1/week; time studies-minimum 1/week.
• Monitor, insure and provide input on all SOP’s.
• Monitor the pick tickets and the tracker.
• Monitor & prioritize workloads as needed.
• Communicate with shipping coordinators regarding the daily plan, pick ticket issues, OTD, trucks, and any other day to day activities; follow up with warehouse team throughout the day.
• Constant follow up on any OTD issues for closure, must be 95% or higher per day/month.
• Assist on any pick ticket issues.
• Follow up with product needed from production; take product that needs a label/box to the production lead.
• Assist in training new hires and follow up with their daily/weekly expectations.
• Maintain a safe and orderly work area.
• Perform duties safely wearing assigned personal protective equipment. Immediately report observed safety hazards to the supervisor.
• Be punctual and at work daily.
• Flexible to work 1st or 2nd shift as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
• Provide leadership during the absence of the Warehouse Manager through directing employees, fulfilling commitments, and acting as the primary contact for shipping, receiving and other warehouse functions.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

• Knowledge of company products and procedures.
• Customer focused with a strong attention to detail.
• Able to work overtime on short notice.
• Able to reach, bend, lift (up to 50 lbs.), twist, squat, push and pull.
• Good manual dexterity and eye-hand coordination.
• Ability to drive a sit-down forklift.

• Ability to read and write English sufficient to perform the essential functions of the position and satisfactorily meet business demands.

 

 

Preferred Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent level of education preferred.
• Shipping/receiving experience preferred.
• Computer literate with an understanding of QAD helpful.

 

 

Physical/Mental Demands:

While performing the essential functions of this job the employee is frequently required to reach, grasp, stand and/or sit for long periods of time (up to 90% of the shift), walk, talk and hear; occasionally required to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Working Environment:

Work is performed in an office environment.  The noise level in the work environment is usually moderately quiet, with frequent interruptions and multiple demands.  The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an individual may encounter while performing the essential functions of this position.
