Job Title: Manager / Senior Manager – Sales (ESG Services)
Location: India (Preferred: Bangalore / Mumbai / Delhi NCR/Hyderabad)
Department: Business Development / Sustainability
Reports To: Director – Certification & Training
Role Overview
The Business Development Manager will be responsible for developing and growing the Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) business across India. The role involves identifying new business opportunities, generating leads, managing key customer relationships, preparing commercial proposals, and achieving revenue targets for ESG-related services.
The successful candidate will work closely with technical experts, certification teams, and marketing to position the organization as a preferred partner for sustainability, climate, and ESG assurance services.
Key Responsibilities
1. New Business Development
- Develop and execute sales strategies to achieve annual revenue targets.
- Promote services for ESG Gap Assessment, ESG Reporting Advisory, Product Carbon Footprint Studies, Life Cycle Assessment (LCA), Sustainability Assurance, Responsible Sourcing Audits, Supplier Sustainability Assessments, ISO 26000 Assessments, EcoVadis Readiness, Sustainability Data Verification
- Identify and develop new clients across manufacturing, pharmaceuticals, food, chemicals, automotive, infrastructure, healthcare, energy, logistics, and consumer goods sectors.
- Build a strong sales pipeline through prospecting, networking, referrals, and industry events.
- Generate new business opportunities from existing customers through cross-selling and upselling.
- Conduct customer presentations, technical discussions, and commercial negotiations.
2. Revenue & Pipeline Management
- Achieve assigned revenue targets (quarterly & annual).
- Maintain strong pipeline coverage (3x–4x of target).
- Forecast sales and track conversion ratios.
- Negotiate commercials and manage pricing strategy.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Environmental Science, Chemistry, Sustainability, Business, or related field.
- MBA preferred.
- 8–12 years of B2B sales experience of Sustainability services in a certification body.
