Job Description:
The Packaging Equipment Operator is responsible for the operation of filler head and nearby equipment required to package liquid bladders. The operator ensures all equipment is operating correctly and efficiently. The operator also controls the mixing and flow of product through the packaging system as well as equipment cleanliness and sanitation throughout the day. The operator is responsible for the safe setup and operation of the automated palletizer as well as the automated pallet wrapping equipment.
Key Responsibilities:
Plans daily activities to deliver finished wine blends in accordance with the daily production schedule.
Assures proper blend tank hookups when packaging product.
Works in cooperation with maintenance personnel to find and fix equipment issues
Ensures that product quality parameters are met at all times in the filling processes by verifying weight measurements as well as other QC checks as directed.
Communicates with the Production Manager on potential filling constraints to assist in organizing the short-term packaging schedule.
Uses inventory principle (FIFO) for proper raw material rotation.
In cooperation with the Production Manager identifies, develops and implements systems to improve inventory control in raw materials.
Assures compliance with all departmental sanitation policies and procedures.
Applies knowledge and skills to resolve filling quality issues.
Participates in inventory physical counts.
Any other tasks that may be assigned.
Working Conditions:
Manages daily workload and prioritizes work to be done according to specific deadlines and production schedule.
Communicates with Kitchener Operations employees and QA/maintenance staff.
Substantial attention to detail in all aspects of duties.
Trouble shoots and solves problems as they arise in an efficient and communicative way
Noisy, physically demanding, repetitive lifting up to 60 pounds

Compensation range $21.49- $27.96 per hour
