Role summary:The (USA) Developmental Technician, Facility Services HVAC/R, supports the maintenance and repair of heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration systems across multiple facilities. This role involves completing required documentation, assisting with capital expenditure planning, and performing preventive maintenance and repairs under supervision. The technician collaborates with management and business partners to identify priorities, communicate progress, and recommend improvements while ensuring compliance with safety and environmental regulations. This position requires adaptability, attention to detail, and a commitment to operational excellence in supporting facility services and equipment reliability.
About the team:
The Walmart Refrigeration/HVAC Technician team ensures the reliable operation of heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration systems across multiple locations. What you'll do:
- Complete and submit required documentation such as expense vouchers, refrigerant logs, and work orders to senior leadership.
- Assist in gathering capital expenditure lists and develop scopes of work for HVAC/R and energy management system updates.
- Perform preventive maintenance, minor repairs, and troubleshooting on HVAC/R equipment under supervision.
- Collaborate with management, coworkers, and business partners to identify priorities, deadlines, and improvement opportunities.
- Ensure compliance with OSHA and EPA regulations by following safety policies and procedures.
- Manage company vehicles, including maintenance scheduling and safety inspections.
- Communicate progress effectively and adapt to feedback and operational changes.
What you'll bring:
- Experience performing HVAC/R maintenance, repairs, and preventive service following established policies and safety guidelines.
- Ability to complete and submit required documentation such as work orders, refrigerant logs, and expense vouchers accurately and timely.
- Knowledge of Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) and Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) regulations related to HVAC/R operations.
- Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills for HVAC/R equipment and energy management systems.
- Capability to collaborate effectively with management, coworkers, and business partners to meet priorities and deadlines.
- Adaptability to learn from feedback and manage change in a dynamic work environment.
- Competence in operating and maintaining company vehicles in compliance with policies and safety standards.

The hourly wage range for this position is $26.00 - $51.00* *The actual hourly rate will equal or exceed the required minimum wage applicable to the job location. Additional compensation in the form of premiums may be paid in amounts ranging from $0.35 per hour to $3.00 per hour in specific circumstances. Premiums may be based on schedule, facility, season, or specific work performed. Multiple premiums may apply if applicable criteria are met.

Minimum Qualifications...

Hold and maintain Universal or Type I and Type II Environmental Protection Agency certification for refrigerant handling.Valid state-issued driver’s license and ability to pass a motor vehicle report.
Option 1: 1 year’s experience in plumbing, electrical, material handling equipment, or related area.
Option 2: 2 years’ Walmart store experience.
EPA 608 Certification within 90 days of hire.• Commercial driving record with no convictions for DUI, DWI, OUI within the last five (5) years.
Commercial driving record with no more than two (2) moving violations in the last three (3) years.
No preventable accidents while operating a commercial motor vehicle in the last three (3) years.
