Description

Are you a technology professional who enjoys solving problems, supporting users, and helping organizations operate more efficiently?

Do you thrive in an environment where no two days are exactly the same, and where your technical expertise directly impacts the success of the people around you?

Would you like to apply your IT skills in a mission-driven organization where your work helps support individuals with autism and the dedicated professionals who serve them?

As an Information Technology Specialist (ITS-1) at Anderson Center for Autism, you'll play an essential role in supporting the technology systems that keep our educational, residential, clinical, and administrative programs running smoothly. From troubleshooting technical issues to supporting network infrastructure and maintaining technology assets, you'll help ensure that staff across the agency have the reliable tools and resources they need to provide exceptional services.

This is an excellent opportunity for a technology professional who enjoys helping others, solving technical challenges, and continuously expanding their knowledge. As part of Anderson's Information Technology team, you'll contribute to a secure, efficient, and innovative technology environment while building valuable experience across multiple areas of IT operations.

What You Will Do as a Technology Specialist:
  • You will provide day-to-day technical support to agency staff by responding to service requests, troubleshooting issues, and delivering exceptional customer service across educational, residential, clinical, and administrative settings.
  • You will assist the Senior Technician, Assistant Director of IT, and Chief Information Officer in supporting the reliable and secure operation of the agency's computer, network, telephone, and email infrastructure.
  • You will manage, prioritize, and resolve support tickets while ensuring requests are documented, categorized, and completed accurately and efficiently.
  • You will diagnose hardware, software, network, and user-access issues by communicating with staff, identifying root causes, and implementing effective solutions.
  • You will assist with escalated technical issues, contribute to problem resolution efforts, and support projects that improve technology services throughout the organization.
  • You will maintain accurate documentation related to support requests, system configurations, technology assets, inventories, equipment installations, and project activities.
  • You will help coordinate and maintain agency-wide technology inventories, ensuring equipment is properly tagged, tracked, and assigned.
  • You will assist in evaluating hardware and technology needs, providing recommendations regarding equipment replacement, upgrades, and lifecycle management.
  • You will contribute to the development of technical documentation, knowledge-base resources, standard operating procedures, and best practices that enhance service quality and operational efficiency.
  • You will participate in technology projects, implementations, upgrades, and departmental initiatives that support Anderson's strategic goals.
  • You will continue developing your technical knowledge through training, professional development opportunities, and ongoing learning related to emerging technologies and industry best practices.
  • You will help create a technology environment that empowers employees to focus on what matters most: supporting individuals with autism and enhancing their quality of life.

What You Can Bring to the Team:
  • A passion for technology and solving technical challenges.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
  • A customer-focused approach and commitment to providing exceptional user support.
  • The ability to communicate technical information clearly and effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • The ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining accuracy and responsiveness.
  • A collaborative mindset and willingness to work as part of a team.
  • A commitment to continuous learning and professional growth.
  • Alignment with Anderson's mission, values, and Quality of Life philosophy.

The Qualifications We Seek:
  • Associate's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience required.
  • Strong knowledge of computer hardware installation, repair, troubleshooting, and maintenance.
  • Working knowledge of wired and wireless networking concepts and configurations.
  • Basic understanding of server administration and technology infrastructure.
  • Experience providing technical support in a help desk, desktop support, or systems support environment preferred.
  • Strong communication, customer service, documentation, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to diagnose technical issues and deliver effective solutions in a timely manner.
  • Ability to learn new technologies and adapt to evolving technical environments.

In Addition, We Expect That You:
  • Complete and maintain all required agency and departmental training.
  • Maintain accurate records, documentation, inventories, and technical support information.
  • Communicate professionally, respectfully, and effectively with colleagues, supervisors, families, and stakeholders.
  • Demonstrate accountability, integrity, and sound stewardship of agency technology resources.
  • Support collaboration and teamwork across departments.
  • Follow agency policies, security protocols, and operational procedures.
  • Promote a culture of innovation, responsibility, and continuous improvement.
