Associate Director, Market Access

This is what you will do:

 

 

The Associate Director Market Access partners with the Senior Director Market Access Germany to develop and execute national market access and pricing strategies for selected assets. Serving as a representative on cross-functional brand and launch teams, you will drive critical activities spanning launch preparation, AMNOG processes, reimbursement, pricing, stakeholder engagement, and oversee operational pricing for the assigned assets.

 

As the internal subject matter expert, you will lead the creation of AMNOG dossiers, payer value propositions, and access strategies for both pipeline and marketed products. This entails preparing for G-BA consultations, written statements, and oral hearings, as well as supporting reimbursement price negotiations and operational pricing.

 

Collaborating closely with Medical Affairs, Commercial, Regulatory, Government Affairs, Legal, HEOR, Global Market Access, and other relevant teams, you will ensure successful launch execution and optimal outcomes in reimbursement processes. Utilizing strong leadership to guide complex cross-functional projects via influence, you will focus on developing relevant analyses, monitoring the competitor landscape, and creating innovative tools and solutions to enhance planning, stakeholder engagement, and operational effectiveness.

 

 

You will be responsible for:

• Strategy & Lifecycle Management: Drive local market access strategies and tactical plans for assigned therapeutic areas. Serve as the Market Access representative on Brand and Launch Teams, providing strategic input throughout product development, commercialization, and lifecycle management.
• AMNOG & Reimbursement: Lead the end-to-end AMNOG dossier development (strategy, data analysis, value argumentation, comparator strategy, and clinical evidence assessment). Support all AMNOG procedures (G-BA consultations, statements, hearings, price negotiations) and create compelling payer value propositions tailored to the German market.
• Market Insights & Strategy: Generate access insights and payer perspectives to inform product strategy, forecasting, launch readiness, and long-term planning. Analyze healthcare policy and pricing developments to provide actionable business recommendations.
• Project Leadership & Tool Development: Lead cross-functional access and pricing workstreams, ensuring alignment and execution. Develop, optimize, and maintain business cases, access/funding models, pricing tools, reimbursement trackers, and digital decision-support resources.
• Stakeholder Engagement: Build and maintain productive relationships with payer experts, healthcare decision-makers, and external advisors. Organize advisory boards and collaborate with the Field teams to support account work.
• Operational Pricing: Manage local pricing activities, including database maintenance, governance, launch assumptions, and lifecycle price changes. Act as the primary liaison with Global and Finance teams, and provide input for business reviews.
• Digital & AI Innovation: Leverage Artificial Intelligence (AI), advanced analytics, and digital technologies to enhance evidence synthesis, dossier development, competitive intelligence, and overall operational efficiency.
• Global Alignment: Collaborate with global colleagues to ensure local market access requirements are integrated into development programs and evidence-generation activities.

 

 

You will need to have:

 

• Advanced degree in Life Sciences, Medicine, Epidemiology, or a related discipline.
• Minimum 5 years of significant experience in pharmaceutical/biotech Market Access, Pricing & Reimbursement, or specialized Market Access consultancy.
• Deep knowledge of the German healthcare system, reimbursement environment, AMNOG legislation, and reimbursement processes.
• Demonstrated hands-on experience and successes in AMNOG dossier development, benefit assessment strategy, and supporting related procedures (oral hearings, reimbursement discussions, launch readiness, price negotiations).
• Strong track record in operational pricing processes, launch pricing preparation, governance, and lifecycle price management.
• Proven ability to operate within matrix organizations, actively serving on Brand/Launch Teams and collaborating with Global organizations.
• Exceptional project leadership skills with the ability to influence cross-functional teams and stakeholders without direct authority to deliver measurable business outcomes.
• Practical application and understanding of Artificial Intelligence (AI), advanced analytics, and digital solutions to support business objectives.
• Strong strategic thinking, analytical capabilities, and critical thinking skills.
• Excellent communication, collaboration, presentation, negotiation, and people skills.
• High level of integrity, accountability, and business acumen in managing multiple complex projects simultaneously.
• Fluency in German and English required.
