Description
[What the role is]
EXECUTIVE / SENIOR ENGINEER, DEVELOPMENT & BUILDING CONTROL (ROAD)[What you will be working on]
Shape the roads of tomorrow.
At the Land Transport Authority (LTA), Development & Building Control (Road) plays a pivotal role at the regulatory front of Singapore’s land transport system. As a key gateway between policy and implementation, we review development and road network proposals to ensure they meet LTA’s policies, requirements and relevant Acts.
As part of the team, you will help shape how developments connect to Singapore’s road network, ensuring that road access, traffic circulation and supporting infrastructure are thoughtfully designed and integrated with the surrounding network. You will work at the intersection of engineering, policy and industry, collaborating with technical experts across LTA and engaging developers and Qualified Persons (QPs) to resolve challenges and guide proposals from planning and design through to construction.
Beyond engineering reviews, you will have opportunities to reimagine regulatory processes, leverage AI and digital solutions, and shape a more efficient and responsive regulatory framework for Singapore.
What you will do
• Technical Evaluation: Evaluate development proposals, road and parking designs, and street works plans to ensure compliance with LTA’s requirements. Assess non-compliances, recommend corrective actions and ensure completed street works meet the required standards before LTA assumes maintenance responsibility.
• Stakeholder Engagement: Work with LTA divisions, developers, consultants, QPs and members of the public to resolve technical issues, clarify requirements and facilitate practical solutions.
• Technology and Innovation: Explore AI-enabled tools and digital solutions to streamline technical reviews, improve productivity and transform regulatory workflows.
• Policy and Process Improvement: Review and reimagine policies, guidelines and processes to keep pace with industry developments, safeguard road safety and connectivity, and reduce unnecessary regulatory burden.
[What we are looking for]
Why join us
• Make a real impact: Help shape Singapore’s road infrastructure and the way it is delivered.
• Broaden your horizons: Work across engineering, policy and industry on complex, real-world challenges.
• Drive transformation: Contribute to AI initiatives and innovative solutions that redefine regulatory work.
• Grow your career: Build technical expertise, stakeholder management skills and leadership capabilities.
Who we are looking for
We are looking for a curious, analytical and forward-looking engineer who enjoys solving complex problems, collaborating across disciplines and challenging conventional ways of working.
• Knowledge in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering or any related engineering discipline.
• A sound understanding of engineering principles, road design standards, construction methodologies and quality assurance.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, writing and communication skills.
• The ability to engage stakeholders, exercise sound judgement and drive issues towards resolution.
• An interest in AI, digital innovation and continuous improvement.
• Candidates with 3–5 years of relevant experience in road design, traffic engineering, construction or infrastructure development will have an advantage.
• Experience in stakeholder management or public engagement is a plus.
• Those with strong engineering fundamentals, a willingness to learn and no prior working experience are welcome to apply.
