Job Description Summary

JOB PURPOSE

Based on the activities assigned by his/her hierarchical superiors, the sales engineer is responsible for the commercial development (business volume, margins, customer satisfaction, etc.) and sales (projects, equipment, etc.) of his/her scope.
He/she leads, monitors and develops the customer portfolio within his/her scope, based on the sales policy defined by management.

Job Description

SIGNIFICANT ACTIVITIES - Develop customer loyalty and sales in the area (participation, prospecting, customer visits, promotion of offers, portfolio management, etc.) - Identify customer needs, define the probability of success and propose an appropriate solution (technical and commercial), while ensuring that risks (payments, returns, contracts, etc.) are controlled - Build and negotiate commercial and technical offers in collaboration with stakeholders (quotations, costings, bids, etc.) - Negotiate and conclude business deals in compliance with commercial conditions (general terms and conditions of purchase and sale, terms of payment, applicable penalties, etc.) - Preparing responses to calls for tender and customer enquiries - Analyze the market and monitor the competition in order to identify new opportunities (markets, customers, technologies, etc.) - Update customer data in business tools (contacts, e-mail addresses, customer fleets, etc.) and competitor data - Enter opportunities and actions (sales proposals, visit reports, etc.) into business tools - Manage project launches (kick-off meetings, documentation, etc.) with internal and external stakeholders - Support project implementation (compliance with contractual commitments, etc.), in collaboration with internal stakeholders - Negotiate additional work to complete projects - Contribute to the resolution of customer disputes and the collection of accounts receivable, in collaboration with internal stakeholders - Assemble financing files in collaboration with external financial organizations or manufacturers, where appropriate RESPONSIBILITIES AND SCOPE FOR ACTION - Ensure the sales development of your area of responsibility - Ensure that sales targets and profitability are met within the scope of your responsibilities - Contribute to the management of commercial disputes and collections within its perimeter - Know and apply internal and external compliance procedures and rules PROFESSIONAL KNOWLEDGE DIPLOMA(S) AND/OR EXPERIENCE(S) 5 years' higher education in sales or engineering and/or significant experience preferred SPECIFIC KNOWLEDGE(S) Technical skill(s) - General commercial knowledge (sales, negotiation, customer relations, etc.) - General product knowledge (ranges, features, etc.) - General knowledge of IT tools and information systems - Advanced intermediate level in English (B2) Behavioral skill(s) - Good interpersonal skills - Active listening - Thoroughness - Ability to analyze - Ability to synthesize - Reactivity - Perseverance
