The Center for Engaged Pedagogy (CEP) seeks a Graduate Assistant for Engaged Pedagogy, Research, and Assessment to support initiatives related to community-engaged teaching and learning, educational research, and assessment across the Center. Working closely with the Executive Director of the CEP and other CEP staff, the Graduate Assistant will contribute to grant-supported work related to Belonging and Community-Engaged Learning while also supporting broader pedagogical research and qualitative data collection efforts that inform the Center’s programming and priorities.

This position offers a unique opportunity to contribute to innovative work at the intersection of teaching, learning, equity, belonging, and inquiry in higher education. The Graduate Assistant will assist with project coordination, qualitative research, resource development, documentation, and assessment in support of CEP’s faculty-facing and student-facing initiatives.

Job Description:

Primary Responsibilities

• Support grant-related initiatives connected to Belonging and Community-Engaged Learning, including assistance with course- and project-related planning, coordination, and documentation.

• Assist with qualitative educational research projects related to teaching, learning, belonging, and engaged pedagogy, including literature reviews, data collection, synthesis, and organization of findings.

• Help develop, organize, and maintain pedagogical resources, research materials, and internal documentation to support CEP initiatives.

• Provide administrative and project coordination support, including scheduling, communications, note-taking, and tracking project progress across multiple initiatives.

• Support assessment and other Center-wide data collection efforts by helping organize feedback, reflections, and related materials for analysis and reporting.

• Participate in CEP team meetings and contribute to faculty-facing and student-facing initiatives through research support, logistical assistance, and responsive collaboration.

• Demonstrated interest in higher education, student learning, and inclusive pedagogical practice.

• Knowledge of or strong interest in engaged pedagogy, community-engaged learning, and questions of belonging, equity, and inclusion.

• Strong interest in educational research, especially qualitative approaches to the study of teaching and learning.

• Ability to identify, synthesize, and communicate information from scholarly, professional, and pedagogical sources.

• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail in project coordination, documentation, and data management.

• Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.

• Ability to work collaboratively and professionally with faculty, staff, students, and community partners.

• Ability to support assessment and data collection efforts and help organize materials for analysis and reporting.

To Qualify

Must be currently enrolled in a graduate-level program. Preference will be given to graduate students in a PhD program with prior teaching and research experience.

The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to departmental budgets, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, and training. The above hiring range represents the College's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.
