Job Description Summary
The Senior Project Manager (m/f/d) is responsible for the overall execution of a new gas turbine project to Customer satisfaction, through management of project-related activities and resources. The projects are related to non-Turnkey Projects or Product/Equipment-Only Projects, such as customer equipment, facilities or infrastructure projects.He/ She is accountable from the signing of the contract to the finalization of all of GE's contractual obligations. The role is subject to operating policy objectives. There is moderate autonomy within the role. High levels of operational judgment are required to achieve the required.

Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the project and direct or indirect leadership and/or management of project resources for small-medium sized projects (size in relation to GE company) that may include equipment-only, suites of products or non-turnkey projects.
- Influence the development of strategy for the area of responsibility, including control of resources and influences policy formulation.
- Interpret simple internal and external business challenges and recommend best practices to improve products, processes or services. Stays informed of industry trends that may inform work.
- Use high level of judgment to make decisions and handle complex tasks or problems in areas of operational, product management, manufacturing, technology or engineering. Have ability to assess quality of information given and ask pertinent questions to stakeholders. Able to offer new solutions to problems outside of set parameters and can construct and provide recommendations. Use multiple internal and some external sources outside of own function to help arrive at a decision.
- Lead functional teams or projects with minimal resource requirements, risk, and/or complexity. Communicate difficult concepts and may influence others' options on particular topics. May guide others to consider a different point of view. Project owner with full Empowerment and Accountability. Develop and own project execution strategy plan – in ITO before Contract signature. Communication plan. Scope, guarantees, warranty. Understand and own financial outcomes (Revenue, margin and cash) – Represent project at various reviews. Drive functions accountability to budget and potential cost outs. Own, lead and proactively manage customer deliverables, relationship, communication and expectations. Timely issue resolution at project level and escalate where necessary.
- Maintain Risk & Opportunities register, daily manage detailed itemized plans to close (Action plan with dates and owners to mitigate each risk and to actualize each opportunity). Liquidated damages strategy. Truly and intentionally manage NCRs, RCAs, COQ, CO, Insurance and Vendor Recovery. Develop and execute Rhythm with project team and various stakeholders internal and external
Required Qualifications
- Master's degree from an accredited university or college, preferably a technical degree
- Significant experience in managing and execution of complex projects, preferably in the energy sector
- Strong oral and written communication skills in English
Desired Competencies:
- Customer Focus: Build strong relationships with key decision makers and other leaders at multiple levels within customer. Tactfully balances GE’s interests with customer’s legitimate expectations regarding contractual scope.
- Project Leadership: Take full accountability for the project outcome. Create a clear vision and establish the right priorities for the entire project team to deliver on SQDC.
- Financial Acumen: Understand, forecast to manage cash, margin, invoicing and revenue for the project. Identify and convert cost-out ideas into margin accretion strategies with the support of cross-functional stakeholders.
- Contract Management: Can successfully negotiate change orders, vendor recoveries and claims. Ability to clarify benefits and potential problems to the customer in order to successfully negotiate change orders.
- Risk Management: Recognize early signs of deviations that would negatively impact cost, cycle or quality. Anticipate worst case scenario and take necessary actions to prevent.
- EHS Leadership: Promote and impose GE’s safety standards and overall EHS standards on project team, partner and subcontractor.
