Description
As our Operations Director, you will play a pivotal role in establishing and scaling advanced semiconductor manufacturing operations, leading the start-up, qualification, ramp-up, and long-term operational success of our Wafer Test and Back Grind manufacturing activities. This is a highly visible leadership position with the opportunity to shape a world-class operation from the ground up while driving operational excellence at scale.
This is more than an operations leadership role.
You will build the manufacturing organization, establish the operating systems, develop the talent, and create the culture that enables qualification readiness, production ramp-up, and sustainable high-volume manufacturing performance. You will work at the intersection of engineering innovation, operational excellence, and business growth, helping deliver semiconductor technologies that power the world's most essential applications.
What You Will Do
- Lead the start-up, commissioning, qualification, and ramp-up of Wafer Test and Back Grind operations
- Establish factory readiness, manufacturing systems, automation solutions, and workforce capability
- Drive the transition from qualification into stable high-volume manufacturing
- Lead manufacturing, engineering, maintenance, planning, logistics, and industrial engineering activities
- Own key operational metrics including yield, throughput, cycle time, OEE, productivity, delivery performance, and manufacturing cost
- Drive continuous improvement through Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and Industry 4.0 initiatives
- Lead the qualification and commercialization of TSSOP, VSSOP, and high-pin-count DHVQFN package technologies
- Partner closely with engineering, quality, supply chain, and external manufacturing partners to ensure successful ramp execution and long-term manufacturability
- Build and lead a strong operations team with a culture of accountability, safety, quality, and engagement
- Champion leadership development, succession planning, and employee growth
- Create an environment where operational excellence and continuous improvement thrive
What You Will Need
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Electronics, Semiconductor Technology, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related discipline
- Master's degree or MBA is advantageous
- 10+ years of leadership experience within semiconductor manufacturing environments
- Proven success leading manufacturing start-ups, greenfield projects, technology transfers, production ramps, or major capacity expansions
- Deep knowledge of semiconductor backend manufacturing, including wafer test, wafer back grinding, packaging, and high-volume production
- Strong understanding of TSSOP, VSSOP, and DHVQFN package technologies
- Experience with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, SPC, FMEA, APQP, DOE, OEE management, and structured problem solving
- Familiarity with digital manufacturing, automation, data analytics, and Industry 4.0 solutions
- Strategic thinker with a hands-on leadership style
- Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills
- Customer-focused with a bias for action and execution
- Proven ability to build, develop, and inspire high-performing teams
- Data-driven decision maker with strong judgment in complex environments
