Description
VP Technical – Powerplant Transaction Management (Americas) | Aircraft Leasing | Dublin
Our client, a leading global aircraft lessor with a growing engine leasing business, is hiring a VP Technical – Powerplant Transaction Management to cover the Americas from Dublin. This is the commercial face of the powerplant team for the region: owning every engine-related conversation with airline customers, and finding ways to make and save money on engines through the life of a lease. Similar to a technical transaction management role, but focused on engines.
Key responsibilities
- Lead or support the negotiation of aircraft and engine lease LOIs on all powerplant topics: OEM offerings, maintenance reserves, end-of-lease rates and structures, and delivery and redelivery conditions.
- Represent the powerplant position on repossessions and transitions between lessees, including engine-related buyouts and extension terms.
- Work with airline customers to optimise engine shop visits and reduce residual value exposure and cash outlay, using engine exchanges and USM/LLP sourcing.
- Run regular shop-visit forecast reviews with airlines in the region, approve workscopes and oversee maintenance reserve claims.
- Lead engine leasing deal teams to minimise engine downtime and maximise risk-adjusted lease revenue.
- Identify opportunities to sell, lease or exchange engines with airline customers, and keep the business in front of RFPs and off-market sales.
- Build relationships with airlines, MROs and regional engine OEM counterparts, and act as the powerplant focal point for the commercial team in the region.
- Manage engine-related credit and maintenance exposure, for example through MRO and OEM backstop agreements, and feed insights into company forecasting.
Experience required
- A strong work ethic and the drive to create commercial outcomes for customers and the business.
- Powerplant experience from a lessor, engine lessor or trader, airline powerplant team or MRO. Airline powerplant managers are encouraged to apply.
- An engineering degree or five years' technical powerplant experience, and a business degree or five years' commercial experience.
- Aircraft and/or engine leasing experience, ideally from both the lessee and lessor side.
- A track record of building relationships with airlines and their senior management.
- Able to lead deal teams and manage competing priorities under tight timescales.
The package
VP level, with scope for a more senior appointment for an exceptional candidate. Competitive base, bonus, long-term retention award, pension and healthcare. Around 50% international travel, mainly across the Americas.
Location: Dublin, Ireland.
