About the Role

Precision Security Team is seeking reliable, highly motivated Armed Security Guards for multiple openings supporting a government contract. In this role, Armed Security Guards are responsible for protecting client personnel, property, assets, and information while maintaining a visible, professional security presence within government facilities.

This position requires strong situational awareness, sound judgment, and the ability to remain calm and make effective decisions under pressure. Successful candidates must be able to work independently and collaboratively, adapt to changing conditions, and respond appropriately to security incidents and emergencies while demonstrating Precision Security Team’s standards of integrity, accountability, and professionalism.

Please Note: Precision Security Team provides security services 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Schedule flexibility, dependable attendance, and punctuality are essential. PST maintains a zero-tolerance attendance policy. This assignment also requires meeting the client's background screening and grooming standards described below.

Core Responsibilities

Monitor and Protect Assigned Properties

• Maintain a visible and professional security presence to deter criminal activity, unauthorized access, and other security concerns.
• Monitor assigned facilities and property through patrols, surveillance systems, alarm monitoring platforms, and direct observation.
• Conduct routine, random, and targeted patrols on foot or in a designated security vehicle, including inspections of buildings, grounds, parking areas, restricted areas, and other designated locations.
• Identify, assess, and report suspicious activity, safety hazards, operational irregularities, policy violations, and potential security threats.
• Perform patrols and security checks in accordance with client requirements, site-specific conditions, and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).

Respond to Incidents and Emergencies

• Respond to and investigate security concerns, disturbances, suspicious activity, policy violations, alarms, and emergencies.
• Apply de-escalation techniques, critical thinking, and sound judgment to address situations safely and professionally.
• Coordinate with law enforcement, emergency responders, clients, supervisors, and other appropriate personnel as necessary.

Manage Access Control

• Monitor and control access to assigned facilities, restricted areas, and secured locations.
• Verify identities, credentials, and authorization as required.
• Grant or deny access in accordance with client requirements, company policies, and site-specific SOPs.

Maintain Documentation and Communication

• Complete accurate and timely incident reports, activity logs, patrol records, and other required documentation.
• Communicate professionally and effectively with clients, employees, visitors, supervisors, emergency personnel, and members of the public.
• Utilize required security and business technology, including smartphones, reporting and scheduling platforms, CCTV and surveillance systems, and other assigned systems or equipment.

Maintain Firearms and Equipment Readiness

• Safely carry, operate, and maintain firearms, handcuffs, and other assigned security equipment in accordance with company policy, training requirements, and applicable laws.
• Maintain all required firearms qualifications, certifications, and training standards.

Protect Confidential Information

• Safeguard confidential and proprietary information related to client operations, personnel, technology, equipment, security procedures, and business practices.
• Exercise appropriate discretion and professionalism when handling sensitive information.

Additional Responsibilities

• Follow Precision Security Team policies, client requirements, post orders, and site-specific SOPs.
• Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by Precision Security Team or the client to support operational and security needs.

Requirements

Minimum Requirements 

• Must be at least 21 years of age.
• High school diploma or GED required.
• Previous armed security experience preferred.
• Military, law enforcement, corrections, or related experience strongly encouraged.
• Ability to pass a criminal background check, motor vehicle records (MVR) review, and drug screening.
• Must also pass the client's background investigation, which is required in addition to PST's standard screening as a condition of assignment to this contract.
• Possess a current, valid driver's license and maintain an insurable driving record, including:
• No major traffic violations within the past five years.
• No more than three minor traffic violations within the past three years.
• CPR certification preferred or willingness to complete company-provided training.
• Reliable personal transportation required. Public transportation and rideshare services are not permitted for firearm transportation.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand, walk, patrol, and remain alert for extended periods, often 8–12 hours per shift.
• Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather and environmental conditions.
• Ability to wear and operate a duty belt, exterior tactical vest, and other required equipment throughout assigned shifts.
• Ability to safely use, maintain, operate, and manipulate firearms, handcuffs, and other issued equipment.
• Ability to pass the company's basic defensive tactics skills course.
