- Ensure required PPE is worn at all times, including hard hat, safety glasses, high-visibility vest, gloves, and safety-toe boots, plus task-specific PPE required by the general contractor.
- Reinforce Stop Work Authority-any team member can and should stop unsafe work, and work does not resume until the hazard is addressed.
- Complete pre-task planning and Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs) and review changing site conditions daily.
- Identify and mitigate hazards and risks; conduct safety inspections and risk assessments and implement corrective actions.
- Investigate incidents, accidents, and near-misses with timely documentation and follow-up.
- Ensure completion of general contractor site orientation and compliance with site-specific safety requirements.
- Partner with the EHS Director and general contractor safety leads on toolbox talks, safety meetings, and audits.
- Promote safety training, awareness, and accountability.
- Maintain working knowledge of tools, equipment, and materials used in janitorial and construction cleaning.
Sustainability
We prioritize eco-friendly solutions.
- Promote environmentally responsible cleaning practices.
- Educate employees and stakeholders on sustainability.
- Partner with vendors on eco-friendly products and services.
- Identify opportunities to improve efficiency and reduce environmental impact.
- Maintain knowledge of green cleaning standards, products, and methods.
Social Impact
We elevate diversity and give back to our communities.
- Foster a positive, inclusive, and respectful workplace.
- Encourage team participation in community and volunteer initiatives.
- Model Verde's Mission, Vision, and Core Values.
- Promote diversity, equity, and inclusion.
Awesomeness
We bring Verde Vibes to life.
As a Construction Operations Manager, you will:
- Deliver exceptional service to general contractors and clients by responding promptly to needs, concerns, and service requests.
- Resolve issues through clear communication and follow-through.
- Schedule work, assign tasks, and prioritize activities around the project schedule and site access.
- Supervise and support team members and ensure performance expectations are met.
- Monitor service quality against the scope of work, site-readiness expectations, and company standards.
- Document scope changes and extra work through the Extra Work Authorization (EWA) process before work is performed.
- Support employee engagement through recognition and teamwork.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
How We'll Measure Success
The Construction Operations Manager is accountable for:
- Financial Performance: Budget adherence and cost efficiency.
- ESAT: Employee engagement and team participation.
- CSAT: Client feedback, service quality, and issue resolution.
- Quality & Compliance: Complaint volume and timely complaint resolution.
- Safety: Managing toward zero recordable incidents, EHS compliance, PPE and Stretch and Flex participation, and proactive risk prevention.
What We're Looking For
- 2+ years of progressive operations experience, preferably in janitorial, facilities, or service industries.
- 1+ year of experience working on active construction sites.
- 2+ years of supervisory experience managing direct reports.
- OSHA 10-Hour Construction certification required, or must be obtained within 60 days of hire; OSHA 30 preferred.

- Strong organizational, problem-solving, and time-management skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Effective communication and customer service skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite-Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
- Bilingual English and Spanish required, including reading, writing, and speaking.
Physical Requirements
The Construction Operations Manager must be able to perform physical activities required for operational oversight on active construction sites, with reasonable accommodations available.
- Frequent walking on uneven surfaces, climbing stairs and ladders, and handling tools and equipment.
- Ability to wear required PPE for the full shift, including hard hat, safety glasses, high-visibility vest, gloves, and safety-toe boots.
- Exposure to outdoor construction conditions, including heat, dust, and noise.
- Occasional standing, sitting, and repetitive motion.
- Ability to lift up to 25 pounds as needed.
