The Quality Assurance Technician II supports AAON’s commitment to delivering high-quality HVAC products by performing inspections, tests, and audits throughout the manufacturing process. This entry-level role ensures that components and finished units meet internal and external standards. The technician works closely with production teams to identify defects and recommend corrective actions. Attention to detail and a strong understanding of quality principles are essential.Primary Duties
The Quality Assurance Technician II is responsible for executing quality control procedures and supporting continuous improvement efforts across production lines. Duties include:

- Conducting inspections of incoming materials, in-process components, and finished products to ensure compliance with specifications.
- Documenting inspection results and maintaining accurate records in accordance with company standards.
- Reporting non-conformances and assisting in root cause analysis and corrective action implementation.
- Collaborating with production and engineering teams to resolve quality issues and improve processes.
- Using measurement tools such as calipers, micrometers, and multimeters to verify product dimensions and performance.
- Supporting internal audits and participating in quality training sessions.
- Ensuring compliance with AAON’s quality management system and applicable industry standards.
- Promoting a culture of quality and accountability on the production floor.
Job Requirements
Education and Experience Requirements:
Requires a high school diploma or GED. Technical training or coursework in quality assurance, manufacturing, or HVAC systems is preferred.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Basic understanding of quality control principles and inspection techniques.
- Familiarity with mechanical and electrical components used in HVAC systems.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical documents.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Effective communication and teamwork abilities.
- Basic computer skills, including data entry and use of Microsoft Office.

Work Environment:
The Quality Assurance Technician II works in a manufacturing setting with exposure to HVAC equipment, moderate noise levels, and varying temperatures. PPE is required in designated areas. The role may involve rotating shifts and occasional overtime based on production needs.
The Supplier Quality Assurance Technician supports product quality by inspecting and evaluating incoming materials, components, and assemblies to ensure compliance with established specifications and quality requirements. This position performs inspections, testing, documentation, and material containment activities before materials are released for production use. The role partners with Quality, Production, Engineering, Supply Chain, and Warehouse teams to identify nonconforming materials and support corrective actions. This position also supports quality improvement activities designed to improve supplier and manufacturing quality.
Primary Duties:
- Performs inspections and testing of incoming materials, components, and assemblies to verify compliance with drawings, specifications, and established quality requirements.
- Uses inspection, measurement, and testing equipment to evaluate product dimensions, characteristics, and performance.
- Reviews material certifications, inspection reports, certificates of conformance, and other supplier documentation for compliance with established requirements.
- Documents inspection results and maintains accurate quality records in accordance with established procedures.
- Identifies, documents, and reports nonconforming materials and supports containment activities to prevent defective material from entering production.
- Maintains designated areas and records used to control and track nonconforming or quarantined materials.
- Supports initial inspections and qualification activities for new or revised materials, components, and suppliers.
- Assists Supplier Quality and other cross-functional teams with material disposition, supplier corrective actions, and quality improvement activities.
- Supports manufacturing quality inspections and production containment activities as needed.
- Participates in quality audits, training, data collection, and continuous improvement activities.
Primary duties may include, but are not limited to:
- Maintains knowledge of applicable incoming inspection criteria, specifications, and acceptance standards.
- Assists with maintaining calibration records and verifies inspection equipment is maintained in appropriate working condition.
- Collects and organizes quality data to help identify defects, trends, and opportunities for improvement.
- Supports corrective and preventive action activities related to supplier or material quality concerns.
- Participates in continuous improvement activities focused on quality, efficiency, organization, error prevention, and waste reduction.
- Collaborates with Quality, Production, Engineering, Supply Chain, and Warehouse personnel to resolve material quality concerns.
- Follows established quality, safety, and operational procedures.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements
Education and Experience Requirements:
- Requires a high school diploma or equivalent; or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background.
- Technical training or coursework in quality assurance, manufacturing, mechanical or electrical technology, or a related discipline preferred.
- Previous experience in quality inspection or a manufacturing environment preferred.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Basic knowledge of quality control principles, inspection processes, and manufacturing practices.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, schematics, and other technical documentation.
- Ability to use dimensional inspection and measurement equipment.
- Basic understanding of mechanical and electrical components and assemblies.
