 JOB DESCRIPTION

TITLE:                                  Assistant Residential Director

CLASSIFICATION:            Clinical Management I

SALARY RANGE:              $45,000 - $68,473

SUPERVISOR:                     Director, Residential Services

 

DEFINITION:

This is responsible professional work in the residential services department.  This position acts as a support to the Residential Services Director and Residential programs.  Carastar Health’s Residential programs consist of nine group homes and several supportive housing programs.

 

DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES:

Assist with the supervision, operation, and management of all residential programs.

Conduct administrative reviews of residential charts.

Assign new case numbers and put together records for new clients and readmissions.

Verify methods of client payment upon client arrival.

Enter client profiles in the Carelogic System.

Assist with collecting rent and fees from the consumers in the Residential Program and the HUD apartments.

Write receipts, balance reports, and receipt in money.

Assist and verify Recertification of all of the consumers residing in the Supportive Housing Program yearly.

Maintain the residential waitlist.

Ensure MICRS (Medically Indigent Care Reporting System) is current at all times.

Assume custodial responsibility for equipment and assure that equipment is maintained and operational.  Stock adequate level of supplies.

Prepare and handle all outgoing correspondence for mail such as, disability requests and other

Agencies’ request for designated programs.

Assist with correction of chart deficiencies noted in administrative clinical reviews.

Screen calls and take messages.

Type as needed.

Order supplies as needed.

Responsible for ensuring the facility is secured each evening.

Responsible for reporting problems through the work order system.

Provide 24/7 on-call.

 

Perform other related duties as requested by supervisor.

 

REQUIREMENTS:

Ability to assume the responsibility for the professional, administrative functions of a Group Home Program and management of the physical facility.

Knowledge of behavioral patterns and problems of the seriously mentally ill.

Knowledge of facility management to include meal planning and preparation, housekeeping and facility maintenance.

Must demonstrate ability to communicate effectively and interact positively with persons with serious mental illness.

Ability to work with the supervisor in terms of facility management, training programs and other residential needs.

Ability to carry out oral and written instructions.

Basic knowledge of psychotropic drugs concerning their applied use, desirable and undesirable effects.

Ability to prepare and maintain documentation as related to the facility and residents.

Working knowledge of office practices.

Ability to work independently or with a group.

Familiarity with principles and practices of medical records.

Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to communicate in a courteous manner with all persons, both personally and in writing.

Ability to relate well to the public, in person or on the telephone, in a pleasant manner.

Basic computer skills including some word processing/basic typing skills.

Knowledge of medical billing procedures.

 

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

Graduation from a recognized college or university with a bachelor’s degree in psychology, Social Work or related field plus two years’ experience in the field of mental health.

Must hold and maintain current Red Cross First Aid and CPR Training certificates.  MAC I Certificates prior to attaining positions. Must meet requirements of Medicaid for approval Medicaid Provider.
