This role has been designed as ‘’Onsite’ with an expectation that you will primarily work from an HPE office.

Job Description:

   

We are seeking a Senior Safety Engineer based in Taiwan to manage safety regulatory approvals. Preferred candidates will have an engineering background and strong English communication skills. Responsibilities include collaborating with HPE Juniper product Safety against the Worldwide regulatory requirements.

Contributions impact technical components of HPE products, solutions, or services regularly and sustainable. Applies advanced subject matter knowledge to solve complex business issues and is regarded as a subject matter expert. Provides expertise and partnership to functional and technical project teams and may participate in cross-functional initiatives. Exercises significant independent judgment to determine best method for achieving objectives. May provide team leadership and mentoring to others.

Responsibilities:

• Review schematics, PCB layouts, and mechanical designs at the concept stage to ensure spacing (creepage/clearance), insulation, and enclosure requirements meet IEC/EN/UL 62368-1, 60950-1 for chassis, power supplies and etc. This is required for internal hardware development, interface with external ODM partners and power supply vendors;
• Develops and directs development of schedules, critical deliverables, budget and other support requirements for assigned program.
• Leads multiple project teams of other electrical hardware engineers and internal and outsourced development partners responsible for all stages of electrical hardware design and development for complex products, solutions, and platforms, including design, validation, tooling and testing.
• Manages and expands relationships with internal and outsourced development partners on electrical hardware design and development and external Safety test agencies such as CSA, UL, TUV, Intertek and others.
• Reviews and evaluates designs and project activities for compliance with technology and development guidelines and standards; provides tangible feedback to improve product quality.
• Provides domain-specific expertise and overall electrical/electronic hardware and platform and perspective to cross-organization projects, programs, and activities.
• Drives innovation and integration of new technologies into projects and activities in the electrical hardware design organization.
• Provides guidance and mentoring to less- experienced staff members.

Education and Experience Required:

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering.
• Typically 10+ years experience.

Knowledge and Skills:

• Using electrical design tools and software packages.
• Excellent analytical and problem solving skills.
• Experience in overall architecture of electronic hardware for products and solutions.
• Designing and integrating electronic components, integrated circuitry, and algorithms into overall architecture.
• Evaluating and proposing forms of empirical analysis, modeling and testing methodologies to validate component, circuit, and hardware designs and thermal/emissions management.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills; mastery in English and local language.
• Ability to effectively communicate product architectures, design proposals and negotiate options at senior management levels.
