Major Function of This Position
The Training Partner is responsible for designing, delivering, and continuously improving training programs that drive sales effectiveness, product expertise, and brand representation across Maui Jim's Brand Ambassador and field sales teams. This role partners closely with Sales Leadership, Marketing, and subject matter experts to equip Brand Ambassadors with the knowledge, skills, and selling techniques needed to successfully engage customers, influence purchasing decisions, and drive business results. The Training Partner serves as a key field enablement resource, ensuring consistent training experiences that strengthen product knowledge, consultative selling skills, customer engagement, and brand advocacy.
Salary Range: $80,000 - $100,000
Essential Duties:
Design, develop, and deliver engaging training programs focused on sales effectiveness, consultative selling, customer engagement, product knowledge, and brand representation for Brand Ambassadors and the field sales organization.
Partner with Sales Leadership to identify skill gaps, performance trends, and developmental opportunities, creating training solutions that support business objectives and sales growth.
Facilitate onboarding programs for new Brand Ambassadors and field sales employees, ensuring proficiency in company products, selling techniques, systems, policies, and customer experience expectations.
Develop and maintain product education programs that enable Brand Ambassadors to confidently communicate product features, benefits, technologies, and competitive differentiators.
Create field coaching resources, learning guides, playbooks, and reinforcement tools that support ongoing skill development and knowledge retention.
Conduct in-person and virtual training sessions, workshops, ride-alongs, side-by-side coaching, webinars, and sales development programs to improve field execution and customer interactions.
Partner with Marketing and Sales teams to support product launches by creating and delivering timely training and sales enablement materials.
Observe field activities and customer interactions to identify coaching opportunities and provide actionable feedback that improves sales performance and customer engagement.
Collaborate with subject matter experts to develop and maintain training content related to products, sales strategies, business processes, systems, and company initiatives.
Measure training effectiveness through evaluations, field observations, sales feedback, and performance metrics, recommending enhancements to maximize impact.
Manage multiple training initiatives simultaneously, including project planning, content development, communication, implementation, and ongoing program maintenance.
Support the administration, development, and delivery of learning content through internal and external learning management systems (LMS).
Partner with Retail Training and key retail partners to ensure consistent messaging, product knowledge, and brand representation across all customer-facing environments.
Serve as a trusted training resource to Brand Ambassadors and sales leaders by providing ongoing coaching, guidance, and support related to sales execution, product education, and customer engagement best practices.
Travel extensively throughout North America to support field teams, conduct in-market training, facilitate meetings and events, and maintain a strong understanding of market dynamics, customer needs, and training opportunities.
Required Skills & Qualifications
Education & Experience
Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, Education, Organizational Development, or a related field.
5+ years of experience in sales training, sales enablement, field coaching, retail training, sales leadership, or a related role.
Experience developing and delivering training programs for field-based sales teams, including virtual and in-person facilitation.
Experience creating training materials, sales tools, and learning resources to support employee development and business initiatives.
Knowledge & Skills
Strong understanding of consultative selling, customer engagement, coaching, and adult learning principles.
Ability to train and develop sales professionals in product knowledge, selling techniques, objection handling, and customer experience best practices.
Strong facilitation, presentation, and communication skills with the ability to engage diverse audiences.
Ability to build effective partnerships and influence stakeholders across Sales, Marketing, Product Development, and Retail teams.
Experience designing, delivering, and evaluating instructor-led, virtual, and blended learning programs.
Proficiency with Learning Management Systems (LMS), Microsoft Office Suite, and virtual training platforms.
Ability to analyze performance data and identify training opportunities that drive business results.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience supporting luxury, premium, retail, eyewear, apparel, or consumer products brands.
Experience working directly with Brand Ambassadors, field sales teams, or retail partners.
Sales leadership, territory management, or field coaching experience.
Professional certifications in training, coaching, instructional design, or sales methodologies.
