Overview

BMW of Shawnee Mission is seeking a motivated and customer-focused Parts Back Counter Associate to support the efficient operation of our Parts Department. This role is responsible for maintaining accurate inventory, sourcing and supplying automotive parts, and providing exceptional service to internal and external customers. The Parts Back Counter Associate works closely with the Service, Sales, Retail, and Wholesale departments to ensure timely and accurate parts fulfillment.

 

 

Responsibilities

 

• Assist technicians and internal departments by identifying, sourcing, and supplying the correct automotive parts.
• Maintain accurate inventory records and support inventory control processes.
• Process parts requests efficiently and accurately for Service, Sales, Retail, and Wholesale customers.
• Research part numbers, availability, pricing, and ordering requirements.
• Receive, stock, organize, and manage incoming parts shipments.
• Ensure back counter operations are organized, clean, and efficient.
• Communicate effectively with vendors, technicians, advisors, and customers regarding parts availability and delivery timelines.
• Monitor inventory levels and report stock shortages or discrepancies.
• Participate in ongoing training and development programs.
• Adhere to dealership policies, procedures, and safety standards.
• Work Saturdays as needed to support dealership operations.

 

Qualifications

 

• Previous automotive parts experience required.
• Knowledge of automotive components and parts terminology.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced dealership environment.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Basic computer proficiency and ability to learn dealership management systems.
• Ability to lift and move automotive parts and materials as needed.
• Dependable, team-oriented, and eager to learn.
• Availability to work Saturdays when required
