Description
About the Role
We are looking for a senior Full Stack Engineering leader to set the technical strategy and execution model for full-stack platform engineering across multiple pods and platform areas. The ideal candidate brings deep expertise in enterprise-scale software architecture, cloud-native transformation, and engineering leadership, along with the ability to guide long-term platform direction while ensuring strong delivery, governance, and operational discipline.
As a VP, you will define the multi-platform full-stack engineering roadmap, establish architecture guardrails and engineering standards, and represent Engineering in cross-functional and executive governance forums. This role is suited for a leader who can align technology decisions with business priorities, scale engineering capability across teams, and drive platform quality, resilience, and adoption across the organization.
Key Responsibilities
Set the full-stack engineering strategy and technical roadmap across multiple pods, product areas, and platform domains.
Define architecture guardrails and technology standards for backend services, frontend platforms, APIs, integration layers, cloud-native delivery, and developer tooling.
Own engineering direction for multi-platform modernization, scalability, reliability, security, and engineering efficiency.
Partner with Product, Architecture, Infrastructure, Risk, Security, and Operations leaders to align engineering investments with business goals and enterprise standards.
Drive organization-wide initiatives to improve developer experience, release velocity, platform adoption, observability, and software quality.
Establish governance and decision frameworks for technology choices, architecture patterns, engineering controls, and production readiness.
Oversee engineering execution across pods, ensuring alignment to delivery commitments, capacity planning, and technical quality expectations.
Represent Engineering in cross-functional governance forums, architecture boards, and executive reviews, clearly articulating technical risks, trade-offs, and priorities.
Build and lead engineering leadership talent across pods, including hiring, mentoring, succession planning, and organizational capability development.
Drive consistency in engineering standards across teams, including secure coding, CI/CD, testing strategy, observability, documentation, and incident management practices.
Influence investment decisions related to platform tooling, cloud strategy, vendor selection, and engineering operating models.
Partner with finance and leadership stakeholders on budget, headcount planning, and resource prioritization for the engineering function.
Evaluate emerging technologies and market trends to evolve the organization’s full-stack engineering posture and long-term platform strategy.
Champion a culture of technical excellence, accountability, collaboration, and measurable business impact.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
12–17 years of experience in software engineering or platform engineering, including significant experience in senior engineering leadership roles.
Proven track record of defining and executing technical strategy across multiple engineering teams or platform areas.
Deep expertise in enterprise-scale application architecture, including backend platforms, frontend ecosystems, APIs, distributed systems, and cloud-native engineering.
Strong experience with AWS and/or Azure, multi-cloud strategy, modernization programs, and engineering governance in complex environments.
Demonstrated ability to establish and scale engineering standards, architecture guardrails, delivery models, and operating practices.
Strong understanding of resilience, performance, security, compliance, observability, and operational risk in enterprise production environments.
Experience leading engineering managers, technical leads, or multi-team engineering organizations.
Exceptional stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to influence at senior and executive levels.
Experience owning or influencing budget, workforce planning, vendor management, and strategic technology investments.
Strong judgment in evaluating technology trade-offs and aligning architecture decisions to long-term business and platform needs.
Exposure to modern application trends such as event-driven systems, API ecosystems, and AI-enabled product capabilities.
