Position Summary
The Business Systems Manager leads business-critical systems and technology solutions that support operational efficiency, client experience, risk management, and scalable growth. This role partners with vendors, business lines, and enterprise stakeholders to align system capabilities with strategic priorities and ensure successful adoption across the organization. The Business Systems Manager is responsible for evaluating business needs, recommending practical technology solutions, developing requirements, supporting implementation, and leading a team responsible for reliable system delivery and service quality.Duties & Responsibilities
- Lead the end-to-end lifecycle of key business systems, including enhancements, releases, upgrades, integrations, and production support.
- Support day-to-day business processing needs for internal partners and external clients while advancing the company’s strategic initiatives.
- Oversee incident, problem, and change management processes, including root cause analysis, corrective actions, and prevention of recurring issues.
- Maintain clear metrics, dashboards, and reporting to monitor system uptime, defect trends, backlog, release readiness, and service quality.
- Approve and oversee procedures for system management activities, fostering consistency, adoption of best practices, and continuous improvement.
- Recommend items for inclusion in the enterprise technology annual operating budget, including in-production systems. Monitor and track departmental expenditures within approved budget.
- Analyze, design, and implement process improvements across various teams across the enterprise.
- Partner with business leaders to plan implementation, training, adoption, and ongoing support for enterprise systems.
- Coordinate integrations across internal and external platforms, data flows, APIs, vendor systems, and enterprise services.
- Evaluate emerging business needs and recommend scalable solutions that support future growth, operational resiliency, and client experience.
- Evaluate return on investment and guide activities toward efficient, cost-effective solutions that deliver measurable business value.
- Plan and oversee effective testing processes to ensure deliverables meet quality, control, and implementation standards.
- Build strong partnerships with functional leaders by understanding business objectives and delivering systems and applications that create value across the organization.
- Manage team capacity, resource planning, skills development, performance feedback, and prioritization of work.
- Improve business unit capabilities through innovative technologies and processes.
- Recruit, develop, and retain skilled talent to execute the technology strategy and support corporate initiatives.
- Build a culture of accountability, continuous learning, operational excellence, and practical problem-solving.
- Ensure products and software platforms comply with federal regulations, internal controls, and data security standards.
Education & Experience
Knowledge:
- Executive communication, leadership, influencing, and presentation skills
- Strong reporting and documentation skills
- Strong understanding of application lifecycle management, technology operations, and system governance
- Strategic, curious, and a creative thinker
- 4+ years of experience managing and leading technology teams
- Exceptional service orientation and client focus
- Demonstrated experience in the strategic use of technology to innovate business delivery
- Experience supporting integration related to mergers and acquisitions
Ability:

- Analyze assignments where application of advanced or technical concepts is required; think outside of the box to develop solutions for complex problems

- Work with technical and non-technical business owners to achieve results in alignment with strategic priorities

Education:
- Requires Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Administration, Management Information Systems, Finance, or related area or equivalent experience.
- Requires 4 - 6 years of senior technology operations or senior infrastructure support experience.
- Requires 4 years of experience with core banking solutions, such as Jack Henry or FIS.
- Preferred 3+ years of experience with core banking, integration, or digital solutions such as jXchange, 4|sight, Q2 Digital Banking, Synergy, Teller Capture, Centrix, Terafina, or Verafin.
- Requires experience with ServiceNow or similar solutions.
- Technical proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite, including advanced Excel and Power BI skills, as well as AI and automation tools.
Compensation and Benefits
Salary offered is based on factors, including but not limited to, the job duties, required qualifications and relevant experience, and local market trends. The role may be eligible for bonus or incentives based on company and individual performance.
(Base Pay Range: $93,000-$132,000/year)
