- Lead and develop the portfolio and operations team and strengthen governance, planning and delivery discipline across CEI.
- Coordinate portfolio-level AI and data governance for CEI initiatives, ensuring responsible-AI, data governance and compliance requirements are embedded through appropriate review forums and partner functions.
- Lead selected high-priority cross-functional programs from planning through implementation and adoption, managing critical milestones, decisions, risks and dependencies, including large-scale commercial platform, system and regulatory program delivery and enterprise change management.
3. Required Capabilities & Competencies
(a) Critical Capabilities & Qualifications
- Portfolio, program and PMO leadership — governance, investment and funding-gate management, executive reporting, and cross-functional delivery with milestone, risk, dependency and operating-model management.
- Ability to define portfolio performance metrics and translate portfolio data into actionable executive insights.
- Budget, capacity, procurement and vendor management with strong financial discipline.
- Strong stakeholder and enterprise change management across business, product, technology, data, AI and governance groups in a matrixed local-and-global environment.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Technology, Finance or a closely related discipline; an advanced technical or business degree is preferred.
- Experience in a highly regulated industry and the China commercial, technology and vendor environment is preferred.
- Experience in commercial excellence, sales operations or business planning within the pharmaceutical industry is an advantage.
(b) Leadership Expectations
- Enterprise orchestration: connects strategic priorities, resources, delivery progress and outcomes into a coherent CEI operating view.
- Execution discipline: converts strategy into governed roadmaps, funding decisions, measurable benefits and reliable delivery.
- Outcome and value focus: uses portfolio insights to guide prioritization, decisions and value realization.
- Financial and operational rigor: manages budget, capacity, spend and vendor performance with control and transparency.
4. Key Collaboration
The role reports to the China CEI Head and partners closely with the AI Transformation Office (AITO) and Digital & Technology (D&T) leads, and with Go-to-Market Transformation (GTMx), Global Commercial Analytics (GCA) and the Pfizer Innovation Center (PIC). It coordinates with China Business Units and functions, and with Finance, Procurement, Legal, Privacy, Risk and Compliance on investment, spend and governance. The role also connects with International AIT and Global Digital / CIO to align China priorities and execution, and runs the Portfolio Council and SteerCo cadence across CEI.
