What you will have an opportunity to do:

SUMMARY

The Assistant Director of Housekeeping supports the Director of Housekeeping in managing daily operations of the housekeeping department to ensure the highest standards of cleanliness, safety, and guest satisfaction. This role oversees housekeeping supervisors and associates, ensures all guest rooms and public spaces meet quality standards, and helps manage inventory, scheduling, and departmental budgets. The Assistant Director of Housekeeping plays a key role in training, motivating, and developing staff to deliver superior guest experiences. QUALIFICATIONS

•

Bachelor’s degree in hospitality management or related field preferred; equivalent combination of education and experience considered.

•

Minimum 3–5 years of progressive housekeeping leadership experience, preferably in a resort or large hotel environment.

•

Strong leadership and organizational skills with proven ability to manage teams in a fast-paced environment.

•

Working knowledge of cleaning chemicals, OSHA standards, and safety regulations.

•

Proficiency in property management systems, Microsoft Office, and housekeeping scheduling systems.

•

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

•

Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays, as business demands.


PERFORMANCE STANDARDS


CUSTOMER SERVICE: Maintain guest satisfaction as the top priority by ensuring rooms and public areas consistently meet quality standards. Respond promptly to guest needs and follow up on housekeeping-related guest requests.


PEOPLE MANAGEMENT: Support the Director of Housekeeping in hiring, training, supervising, and evaluating housekeeping staff. Promote Pyramid Global Hospitality’s people-first values by fostering teamwork, accountability, and recognition of associates’ contributions.


QUALITY: Ensure cleanliness and safety standards are consistently achieved. Monitor housekeeping processes for efficiency and compliance with brand and company standards. Assist in managing inventory of linens, supplies, and equipment, and ensure cost-effective usage.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

•

Supervise daily housekeeping operations, ensuring all guest rooms, public areas, laundry and back-of-house spaces meet cleanliness and presentation standards.

•

Assist with scheduling, training, and evaluating housekeeping associates and supervisors.

•

Conduct daily inspections of guest rooms and public areas to ensure adherence to quality standards.

•

Conduct daily inspection of laundry operations to ensure adherence to quality standards.

•

Manage supplying inventories, coordinate orders, and maintain accurate records.

•

Support labor management by monitoring staffing levels in alignment with occupancy forecasts.

•

Ensure compliance with safety, health, and sanitation policies.

•

Collaborate with other departments to support guest satisfaction and operational efficiency.

•

Respond to guest inquiries and resolve service issues promptly.

•

Assist with departmental reporting, budgeting, and payroll oversight.

•

Perform additional duties as assigned by the Director of Housekeeping.



PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS


SITTING: Occasionally, for administrative tasks.

STANDING/WALKING: Frequently, during inspections, training, and floor supervision.

CROUCHING/KNEELING: Occasionally, during room and equipment inspections.

STOOPING/BENDING: Frequently, to inspect and handle housekeeping supplies.

LIFTING/CARRYING: Frequently, up to 25 lbs.; Occasionally up to 50 lbs. of supplies or equipment.

REACHING/HANDLING: Frequently, to manage cleaning supplies, tools, and equipment.


USE OF SENSES

TALKING IN PERSON: Constantly. Communicate with guests, associates, and management.

TALKING ON TELEPHONE/RADIO: Frequently. For staff coordination and guest service follow-up.

HEARING: Constantly. Required for guest interactions, team communication, and safety awareness.

NEAR VISION: Constantly. Reviewing reports, schedules, and inspections.

FAR VISION: Frequently. Inspecting rooms, public areas, and property grounds.

COLOR VISION: Occasionally. Identifying stains, cleaning indicators, and supply labels.

FULL FIELD VISION: Constantly. Ensuring awareness of staff, guests, and safety conditions.

SMELL: Frequently. Detect odors, cleanliness issues, or chemical imbalances.

ENVIRONMENTAL SETTING

SAFETY REQUIREMENTS: Must follow proper use of cleaning chemicals, PPE, and housekeeping equipment. EXPOSURES: Frequently exposed to cleaning solutions, dust, and varied temperatures during property inspections. OPERATION OF EQUIPMENT: Frequently. Housekeeping carts, vacuums, washers/dryers, radios, and related cleaning equipment.
