Senior Quality Assurance Engineer

We're hiring a senior, hands‑on QA professional to join one of our delivery teams working with a European private equity and alternative assets firm. You'll be the first QA hire on this account, so you'll help shape how QA is done from the start. You'll work with the team's principal engineers to set the testing approach for modern web applications that are built with AI and that also have AI and agentic features inside them.

You'll work directly with the delivery team and the client's stakeholders, without extra layers in between. This is an individual‑contributor role at first, and the account has room to grow the QA function over time.

What you'll do

• Drive Quality Strategy: Define, own, and scale the overarching QA and test automation strategy for the client's applications, acting as the definitive voice of quality alongside principal engineers and product leaders.
• Architect Automation: Design, build, and maintain robust, scalable automated test suites from scratch, primarily utilizing Playwright with TypeScript.
• Pioneer AI Testing: Lead the validation strategy for applications with embedded AI and agentic functionality. Define industry-leading approaches to validate non‑deterministic behaviour, evaluate output quality, and map complex failure modes.
• Leverage AI for QA: Actively utilize advanced AI tools (especially Claude Code) to accelerate test creation, develop internal tooling, and streamline defect triage.
• Build the Framework: Architect and contribute to agentic testing frameworks and custom internal QA tooling that sets a new standard for our delivery teams.
• Pipeline Integration: Engineer and oversee comprehensive API and end‑to‑end testing architectures seamlessly integrated into CI/CD pipelines.
• Stakeholder Leadership: Confidently present test strategies, quality metrics, and risk assessments directly to senior client stakeholders, translating technical quality into business risk.
• Navigate Complexity: Ensure uncompromising quality within a strictly regulated financial setting, operating securely with access limited to code and test environments.
