Job Description:
The Coordinator of Marketing and Communications will provide results-oriented, comprehensive strategic direction and brand-centered integrated communications support for the CMDA with specific focus and coordination of LSU School of Music event marketing; will work with the CMDA Administration to collaboratively promote events and functions that will increase attendance; will help to identify and facilitate discussion and decisions about issues affecting events; and will ensure that high standards, and campus wide priorities are reflected in the planning and presentation of events.
Job Responsibilities:
- Responsible for coordinating the production and distribution of college-specific and School of Music promotional materials for internal and external outreach to students, families, alumni, donors, industry, and legislative audiences ensuring that the high standards of the College are met in the content and production of the publication. Publicity items include: comprehensive CMDA Performance Guide, press releases, e-newsletter, video, website, social media sites (Facebook, Twitter, and You Tube), and performance programs plus University publications related to student recruitment. Coordinate the production and distribution of materials electronically to internal and external audiences. 50%
- Serve as liaison to the LSU Office of Strategic Communications to ensure compliance with LSU standards. Coordinating with the Offices of Strategic Communications and Admissions to ensure a consistent image and message in print publications, website and social media communications. Serve as the College's communication liaison with the LSU Foundation and other colleges, departments or schools to coordinate a consistent message that communicates the College's success and state-wide outreach. 15%
- Provide content coordination for the CMDA's websites and review website content for substance and relevancy. Analyze the enhancement of social networking tools, including web, Facebook and Twitter, for the College and School of Music, providing an additional outlet to promote the College and School of Music with a relevant message and social interaction with new audiences. 15%
- Collaborate with marketing team to develop a long-term integrated marketing communications plan for the College and School of Music based on College and University marketing initiatives, to include objectives, strategies, tactics, calendar of events and timetable. 10%
- Supervise the work production of student workers and/or graduate assistants assigned to the Marketing office to ensure that goals, timelines and quality of material are met to the standard of the College and the University. 5%

Minimum Qualifications:
- Education Level: Bachelor's
- Specific Degree: Marketing or related field

- Education Level: Master's
- Specific Experience: Outstanding written and verbal communication skills. Web design experience, publication and strategic planning experience. Branding and graphic design experience. Must be able to multi-task numerous responsibilities and work productively and efficiently under strict deadlines and within budgetary parameters. Must be a team player with the ability and willingness to work independently with minimal supervision.
