Veterinary Technician

Located in Worthington, Indiana, Royer Veterinary Services is a full-service veterinary practice that has proudly served pets and their families for more than 20 years. The hospital provides comprehensive care with services ranging from wellness and preventive medicine to dentistry, diagnostics and imaging, surgery, anesthesia, and advanced surgical procedures. We are currently seeking a Full-Time Veterinary Technician to join our team!

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Assist veterinarians with examinations, treatments, surgeries, and other medical procedures.
• Obtain and record patient histories, vital signs, weights, and other clinical information.
• Collect and prepare blood, urine, fecal, and other laboratory samples.
• Perform routine laboratory tests and diagnostic procedures as directed.
• Administer medications, vaccines, and treatments under veterinary supervision.
• Prepare patients for surgery and monitor them before, during, and after procedures.
• Monitor anesthesia, vital signs, and patient recovery.
• Provide appropriate animal restraint and ensure patient safety and comfort.
• Maintain clean, sanitary, and organized treatment and surgical areas.
• Operate and maintain veterinary medical equipment.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records.
• Assist with radiographs and other diagnostic imaging procedures.
• Educate pet owners about medications, nutrition, preventive care, post-treatment instructions, and general animal health.
• Monitor hospitalized patients and communicate changes in condition to the veterinarian.
• Provide compassionate care and handling of animals while minimizing stress.
• Follow established safety, infection-control, and animal-care protocols.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the veterinarian or practice manager.
