Position: Director of Enterpise Technology
Location: Indianapolis, IN (on-site)
The Director of Enterprise Technology is a strategic technology leader responsible for defining, advancing, and governing the firm's enterprise technology ecosystem. This position partners with executive leadership, business unit leaders, and operational stakeholders to ensure technology investments accelerate business growth, improve operational efficiency, and enable innovation across the firm's architectural and engineering practices. This role ensures the firm's technology landscape remains scalable, secure, reliable, and aligned with the needs of a rapidly growing organization.
Responsibilities
Enterprise Technology Strategy & Leadership
- Develop and execute a multi-year enterprise technology roadmap aligned with company growth objectives.
- Partner with the Executive IT leadership to establish technology priorities, investment strategies, and modernization initiatives.
- Translate business objectives into scalable technology solutions that support engineering, design, project delivery, and corporate operations.
- Establish enterprise technology standards, governance frameworks, and decision-making processes.
- Lead technology planning initiatives supporting projected 15% annual organizational growth.
Enterprise Architecture & Technology Governance
- Define and maintain the enterprise technology architecture across:
- Business applications
- Engineering/design platforms
- Cloud services
- Integration platforms
- Data platforms
- Collaboration technologies
- End-user computing ecosystems
- Establish technology lifecycle management processes.
- Evaluate emerging technologies and recommend strategic adoption opportunities.
- Develop standards for:
- Application selection
- Cloud adoption
- Integration approaches
- Technical debt reduction
- Platform modernization
- Ensure technology investments deliver measurable business value.
Business Application & Engineering Technology Alignment
Partner closely with:
- Technology Solutions Group
- Business application owners
- Engineering leadership

Ensure technology supports:
- CAD/BIM platforms
- Engineering design workflows
- Project delivery systems
- ERP/project accounting systems
- Document management
- Collaboration platforms

Digital Transformation & Innovation
Lead enterprise initiatives focused on:

Create an innovation pipeline that identifies opportunities to improve:

Portfolio & Vendor Management
- Establish enterprise technology vendor strategy.
- Manage strategic technology partnerships.
- Negotiate technology contracts and agreements.
- Evaluate vendor performance and business value.
- Develop technology investment recommendations.
Responsible for oversight of major platforms including:
- ERP/business systems
- Engineering applications
- SaaS platforms

- Integration platforms

Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering Technology, Business Administration, or related field
- 12+ years of progressive IT leadership experience
- 5+ years leading enterprise technology strategy or architecture
- Experience supporting organizations of 500+ employees
- Experience managing distributed organizations across multiple locations
- Experience leading technology transformation initiatives
Preferred experience:
- Architectural & Engineering industry experience
- Professional services organization experience
- Engineering software ecosystem experience
- Deltek Vision/Vantagepoint experience
- CAD/BIM technology experience
