Description
We’re building a smarter, more disciplined long-haul LTL network. That requires pricing leaders who can make fast, disciplined decisions rooted in math, market behavior, and operational reality; not legacy assumptions.
This role is for someone who wants to own how pricing decisions are made—not simply oversee a team processing requests.
You’ll lead a team of Pricing Engineers and raise the level of thinking behind every pricing decision. That means challenging assumptions, improving decision models, balancing competing variables, and ensuring pricing becomes a true competitive advantage.
What you’ll do
1. Lead Strategic Pricing Initiatives
- Own the department’s highest-impact strategic projects from concept through implementation.
- Prioritize and execute initiatives that drive revenue growth, margin expansion, operational efficiency, and customer retention.
- Partner with executive leadership to develop and execute the Pricing roadmap.
- Ensure strategic initiatives are delivered on time with measurable business results.
2. Own Pricing Programs & Governance
- Lead the development, execution, and continuous improvement of strategic pricing programs and initiatives.
- Establish governance to ensure pricing consistency, scalability, and alignment across the organization.
- Evaluate program performance and identify opportunities to improve profitability, customer experience, and operational efficiency.
- Drive cross-functional collaboration to successfully implement pricing strategies and organizational priorities.
3. Drive Revenue & Margin Optimization
- Develop data-driven pricing strategies that improve revenue, profitability, and network performance.
- Identify opportunities through market analysis, customer trends, and business performance to drive continuous improvement.
- Translate complex data into actionable recommendations that support executive decision-making.
- Balance growth, profitability, and operational objectives to deliver sustainable business results.
4. Lead Cross-Functional Projects
- Serve as the Pricing lead on enterprise-wide initiatives.
- Coordinate cross-functional teams to deliver strategic improvements.
- Remove roadblocks and ensure projects stay aligned with business objectives.
- Present project updates, risks, and recommendations to senior leadership.
5. Improve Pricing Analytics & Decision Making
- Develop analytical models that support smarter pricing decisions.
- Identify trends, anomalies, margin leakage, and opportunities through data analysis.
- Improve forecasting, elasticity analysis, yield management, and pricing performance measurement.
- Translate complex data into actionable business recommendations.
6. Build Pricing Systems & Process Improvements
- Drive automation and continuous improvement across Pricing.
- Improve pricing workflows, tools, reporting, and decision support capabilities.
- Partner with IT and Business Intelligence to develop scalable pricing solutions.
- Reduce manual work while improving speed, consistency, and accuracy.
7. Develop the Pricing Organization
- Coach and mentor Pricing Engineers and analysts.
- Promote analytical thinking, accountability, and continuous improvement.
- Establish best practices and standard methodologies across the department.
- Foster a culture focused on innovation, ownership, and business impact.
What you bring
- 5+ years of pricing, revenue management, transportation, logistics, finance, or highly analytical commercial experience
- 2+ years leading and developing teams
- Strong mathematical and statistical foundation with the ability to interpret large datasets and make business decisions from them
- Experience using pricing models, forecasting logic, trend analysis, or profitability modeling
- Advanced Excel; SQL preferred; exposure to large datasets
- Bonus: Python, VBA, or automation experience
How you operate
- You think in systems, not tasks
- You challenge assumptions constructively
- You are comfortable with ambiguity and imperfect data
- You own outcomes, not activity
- You communicate clearly and decisively
