Job Summary
Residential Solutions is the non-regulated business of Duke Energy that sells and administers Home Protection Plans to residential customers. As the business is expanding and a new platform is being developed to support new business models and customers, we are looking to fill a role with focus on integrating a third-party payment processor on the new customer-facing platform. The platform is positioned to grow and accelerate our current non-regulated Residential Solutions business by expanding out new products and services and targeting new customers.
Responsibilities
- Owns the payment platform implementation, product strategy and roadmap
- Drive out the evolution of payment experiences, optimize systems and platform capabilities that directly influence subscriber growth
- Own the full product lifecycle for the payment platform, including strategy, roadmap, prioritization, execution and launch
- Drive platform capabilities that improve purchase conversion, first payment success, renewal, subscriber retention and long-term revenue performance
- Manages merchant contract negotiations, payment strategies and alternative payments
- Develop in depth understanding of Consumer payment products and serves as a subject matter expert
- Partners with cross functional teams and leaders across the organization to align growth, performance management, and risk management priorities and execution
- Surveys payment industry efforts and peer competitors to identify areas of opportunity
- Manage external vendors responsible for payments end-to-end operations, including processing services and technology providers, card networks, embossing and printing capabilities, and loyalty platforms
- Maintains visibility into industry trends, customer behaviors, new product offerings, new providers and regulatory trends, and areas of focus
- Leads and facilitates group that manages profitable products & services in collaboration with key internal stakeholders and external stakeholders, to create alliances and execute successful customer initiatives.
- Translate business objectives and user needs into business requirements, user stories, target-state process flows, product roadmaps, and delivery artifacts for digital assets and adjacent payments initiatives
- Continually reviews work processes within assigned products, programs and services and takes timely action for improvement
- Manage the vendor relationships like a business owner with minimal supervision for items like performance standards, quality, timeliness, tracking and reporting, invoicing, equipment operation, customer satisfaction and coordination with program stakeholders
Basic/Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Business, Finance, or other related degree
- Minimum 5 years related working experience or
- Associate's degree and 7 years of related experience
- In lieu of bachelor's/associates degree, a High School Diploma/GED and 9 years of related work experience
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s Degree in Marketing, Engineering, or Business Administration
- 7 years of related work experience
Additional Preferred Qualifications
- Experience leading or coordinating cross-functional initiatives, governance routines, and business planning processes.
- Experience with project management, including development of implementation plans, timelines, status reporting, and follow-up routines.
- Strong financial acumen and ability to connect performance insights to business decisions.
- Expert PowerPoint skills, including the ability to translate strategy, data, performance insights, and complex initiatives into clear, compelling executive-level presentation stories.
- Strong collaboration and relationship-building skills across functions and levels of the organization.
- Strong problem-solving, analytical, and decision-support skills.
- Strong organizational and planning skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.
- Strong written, verbal, and presentation communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to influence, facilitate, and drive alignment across diverse stakeholder groups.
- Experience preparing executive presentations, business reviews, leadership meeting materials, and strategic updates.
- Systems thinking and ability to connect the dots across functions, priorities, initiatives, and enterprise objectives.
- Experience successfully working in a team environment to achieve shared goals.
- Demonstrated experience in change management, process integration and implementation and supervisory or management experience
Working Conditions
- Hybrid – Work will be performed from both remote and onsite locations after the onboarding period. However, hybrid employees should live within a reasonable commute to the designated Duke Energy facility.
