What You’ll Be Doing

Our Global Investment Banking group supports corporate, government and institutional clients with strategic advice, equity and debt fundraising, and corporate finance advisory services such as mergers and acquisitions.  Our vision is to be the preferred capital markets banking partner to our clients, across multiple products and services.

The Toronto-based Global Technology & Innovation (“T&I”) Investment Banking office has deep sector expertise and proven execution capabilities combined with a full suite of capital market solutions, allowing our team to assist at every stage of our technology clients' business lifecycle. As a leader in this dynamic and rapidly changing industry, we pride ourselves on having advised, structured and financed many of the industry's most notable and complex transactions for Canada's leading technology participants, both private and public.

Our group focuses exclusively on technology and technology-enabled clients that operate in traditional sectors such as Enterprise Hardware and Software, SMB software, Business Services, Supply Chain Management, and Cloud Infrastructure, as well as emerging sectors including E-Commerce and Payments, Cybersecurity, Internet of Things (IoT), Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Educational Technology (EdTech).

Our ecosystem is fast changing and the successful applicant will help assist our clients in many capacities including initial public offerings (IPO), strategic mergers and acquisitions (M&A), and growth financings and/or public follow-on financings.

With guidance from Managing Directors or Executive Directors, you will complete assignments that impact the firm's bottom line through transaction and financing execution, client relationship support, industry and company research, and contributing to the overall communication flow across our global offices. The role of an Associate is challenging and fast-paced.  It requires dedication, passion for the industry and a very solid work ethic. You must be able to accept flexibility in required personal time commitments to complete work assignments.

At CIBC we enable the work environment most optimal for you to thrive in your role. To successfully perform the work, you’ll be on-site full-time.

The expected annualized base salary for this role is $135,000.

The base salary is determined by a variety of factors, including the candidate’s skills, experience, and job-related knowledge, as well as geographic location and specific business needs. Our compensation philosophy supports ongoing growth and development, enabling progression within the salary range as team members advance in their roles.

In addition to base pay, compensation for this role includes participation in an annual discretionary incentive or bonus program.

We are committed to providing fair, equitable, and competitive compensation opportunities for all employees and we encourage open conversations about compensation throughout the recruitment process.
